Thanks for doing this Klein. I got my DM on ecas a month ago ~ August 12th and have been waiting for portal email since. Would be nice to know if there are others in a similar situation waiting so long for portal email after DM.

(other info: My AR Sept 2020 2 nd week. ADR and Medical passed June and early July. )

Hi there I got DM on 2 September and hot first email where I was asked about status etc and I replied them back next day but still waiting for portal email??? I have seen people get within a week after getting DM.

why was there such a "problem" with your biometric?

Also if someone gives biometric once for the work permit does he need to do it again?

Hi!

I never gave my biometrics before for my work permit as it wasn't a requirement until recently. If you've previously given them (within the last 10 years) for other Canadian visa applications (or work permit in your case) you will NOT need to do them again.

The delay in my application was caused by COVID, as all Service Canada centres were closed for over half a year. If it weren't for Covid, I would have been able to do them much sooner, but ended up not being able to do them until October 2020 as I had to wait for Service Canada to call me with an appointment date.
