Applicants waiting for background checks!!!!!!!!

My CSIS too 5 months, then they sent it back to CIC !!! but CIC say they dont have it .

in lots of cases I have seen BC is done long after CSIS was done. I mean CSIS is only part of the job. maybe the local police is involved after the CSIS or other agencies. I haven't contacted CIC to see if they have got the report from CSIS or not. I may get the same reply which you got!!!!!!

I have questions regarding background verifications for outland visa spousal processing to estimate timeline.

Q1 If Immigration officer wants to verfiy for background check in other countries that applicant indicated in the application, does Immigration officer have to use only CSIS or have to contact the country directly (embassy/consulate)?

If CSIS is done & submit the result to CIC, does this mean that this is the end of their background checks?

Q2 Please Confirm: Immigration Officer only do background checks on countries visited for more than 6 months and & doesn't need to ask for PCC on countries visited less than 6 months, right?

The reason I'm asking this is my husband indicated on his travel form that he went to Ukraine (Hungary-Ukraine Border) various 1 day trips to buy cheap goods (food & drinks).

I'm worried that they may ask for PCC or perhaps do a background verification to Ukraine which will delay processing time.

CSIS - Canadian Security Intelligence Service. It's like a Canadian version of FBI in States. CIC will request background check of an applicant's history to this agency.

MY E-CASE SAYS..MEDICAL RESULTS HAV BEEN RECIVED ... SO I EXPECT TO BE AS NEXT STEP ?? WILL THEY START BACKGRIUND CHECK OR THEY DID IT ALREADY ?? JUST WANNNA KNOW WHERE I STAND NOW ...AM DEALING WITH CAIRO EGYPT VO ,,,SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OFCOURSE

I called them last week friday but they say inorder for me to request if background check is ongoing or done. I have to make a letter & fax it to them. please don't forget to include

Applicant's name, date of birth, place of birth(?) & most importantly the client ID number or immigration file number.

and how you wanted to be contacted for the result.

yes! sorry to say this Kedeisha but military background is a redflag in your application which means CSIS will get involve in your case!

I believe CSIS is responsible for both outland & inland sponsorships.

so i can say i am in the background check right now ??!!! and as i served in the military so this means CSIS will get involved into my application and this will dealy i more huh????
