Am I the only one with 6 (SIX!!) lines on ecas?!
None of them says Medical done...
Last one was for RPRF. Which we paid two weeks ago... No ECAS update yet...
VISA exempt so we're waiting for COPR...
I was hoping for "decision made" but nothing happens...
E mail we got with instructions for RPRF said they will send us COPR 7 days after receiving receipt.....

Blah... This waiting game will give me a heart attack...

hey guys!
after a while, i'm back on the forum.
we've landed on august 7th to edmonton. it took us almost 2 hours at immigration office to finish the paperwork, since there were lots of people having business with imm office (mostly business and students visas, though). the actual work took 20 minutes. there weren't any problems anyway along the road, which was nice. we came in the afternoon, so we weren't able to get our SIN at the airport, but we went to get those on monday. it took 15 minutes to finish paperwork for four of us. also, it took me 20 minutes to finish paperwork for health cards, for which I've applied the very next day. i've got my alberta driving licence just yesterday, cause it took me while to get of hold of a proof from the US that i've taken driver's test almost two decades ago :p otherwise, i could have gotten the DL right away, but it would be issued as to a beginner, since my american DL was renewed in may this year. we had trouble getting SIM cards. i know it sounds weird, but it took us almost a week!! and it seems that we wouldn't be able to do it even then if there wasn't for my uncle, who is a citizen. i don't know if we didn't know how to go about it or what, but he had to vouch for us. weird! anyway, we had to pay rent for three months in advance, since we don't have a canadian credit history. also, when you're moving into an apartment, BE AWARE, that you have pay for deposit for internet/cable installation equipment, and only after that they will book you for installation. we learned that in a harder way :)
everything else goes pretty smoothly. since we just got internet day before yesterday, now we've started applying for jobs. and there are plenty. we've met lots of people from former YU, and they were of great help in terms of directing us toward information we've needed.
if you guys have any questions - i'm here!
good luck to those who are still waiting for visas!

Hey, stranger, good to hear from you :)
We landed in Vancouver on 11th September, afternoon. also, we waited altogether around 1.5h. In addition, we brought 2 cats with us, but that procedure took 10 minutes. Fun fact: almost all officers we spoke with on YVR participated in TV show "Canada border police", so it was a bit awkward and funny. :D They didn't ask anything about funds we're bringing in. We also couldn't get SIN on the airport but finished that next Monday, it lasted maybe 30 minutes with waiting. We found apartment through friends, who granted for us, and we just paid deposit and rent for September in advance. For mobiles and SIM cards it also took one week. Friend had to grant for that also, so we took numbers and phones through her package. The thing is, for most services here, you need credit history check or at least credit card. (for some things, even foreign credit card will do, it's worth checking). As for the cable tv and internet, we waited 2 weeks, and it took some negotiating tactics, but we got it without any costs in advance. We're still in a tourist phase, so to say, wondering around the city every day. We started sending resumes, but also spreading the word to all people we contact. First impressions about Vancouver are very positive. People are friendly and willing to help with everything.
That would be all for start, will write more later.

All the best to you all!!! :)

Hi Guys,
Guess everyone is doing fine.
So we got out PR in June 2015 but we havent gone landing yet.
Our plan was to go on next year Feb for landing however my wife is now pregnant :-). I do understand that giving birth in Canada gives the child the citizenship automatically but what about health card?
Are we going to be able to get the health card or we really have to do the waiting period? We want to land in Calgary.

Thanks for your help

In Alberta there is no waiting period. You can get the health card and you are entitled for full Alberta healthcare from the day you land.

Do you know if citizens of EU members (Bulgaria, to be more exact) need tourist visa for Canada? If no, how long can they stay in Canada as tourists?

ECAS says Decision made!!!!

How long did your passport take to get back to you? Did the CIC office in Vienna provide you with a tracking number? I got a request to send my passport there last week and on the day the passport arrive, my application was updated to approved, but till now I did not receive any tracking number to receive my passport.

Thanks!

Lydia

hi guys ...i hope everyone are fine..
im canada more than 3 month's now...we still love canada ..hahhaha
ok i have a q ....what do think about E Entry...do you think it slow?? i think that we FSW 2014 we were lucky one's...don't you think so ???i think it is much harder now to come canada..opinions?

I don't think it's slow. Some guys here (from Croatia) got PR in less than a month since invitation.
But, points are still high, 450, and that's hard to get especially if spouse has no education after high school and no (or poor) IELTS.
Most of the people that successfully got through the EE are already here, having LMIA/LMO that's still valid and skilled, or have enough Canadian experience to go through CEC category.

We received the golden email today!!! PPR just arrived!! We are so happy!!

Good luck to other applicants who are still waiting for the end of the process.

COPR just arrived!!!!! Going to the border right away!!!

Passports say "Become P. R. on October 23 2015!!
