When are you leaving?

Not yet certain. Trying few job interviews.
unfortunately they all want me to join immediately and I have 2 months notice at my current job. :(
Most likely will have to resign and land there without a job to start with..

We haven't manage for accomodation yet. I was thinking of taking a room for students with 3 meals for my husband (I'll be there for only 10 days) but it is not going as I thought. There are a lot of adds so I assumed that we can choose. But, I haven't had a positive response yet.

@ darlings - yeah neghbour, I'll think of you in "warm" winter nights, we migth drop by to check if you've settled fine and are they treating you well ;)

Feel free to drop by whenever ;)

As for accommodation, if you don't have any friends/family/acquaintance to help you find apartment in advance, you'll have to settle in some hotel or temporary apartment (short lease) and search for yourself.

Also, we don't have any jobs in advance, will be looking after landing.

That's where we will try to rent an apartment :)

Transfer from another thread .... (accommodation issue)

There are several websites that you can find on your favorite search engine. Two of the ones I like are http://renthello.com/ and http://www.rentseeker.ca/

www.rentseeker.ca

All the Legalities

As a tenant you need to be very well aware of your legal rights and the procedures involved. Therefore read upfront about the basics of renting in your province. Here is some information I found for British Columbia
http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/housing-tenancy/residential-tenancies

Has anyone some other good websites for home/flat renting to share?

Hey guys.

How long after your medical did your ECAS status change? That's third line, right?

And how long did you wait for RPRF?
Tnx

RPRF request you get 10-14 working days after medicals (12 in my case).
After payment additional two weeks are required for COPR or passport request (depends what country are you from).
Since you are already in Ca, the whole process should be expedited....

You mean, after medical is visible on ECAS?
We've done medical two weeks ago, and nothing yet..

Hello guys,

We did our medicals on 25 June and got TLU one week after, but we are still waiting for passport request. Why does it take so long, should I write them an email, is it normal to wait almost 2 months for PR? I know that we should sit back and relax, but I am getting worry a bit. Please advice!

Regards,
Boban

You should definitely write to embassy cause you don't have NOTHING to loose, right?
You can only gain valuable information that will come you down a bit (until you finally get what you want)

Guys

Does anyone had a experience sending passports to VO Vienna with courier?

If yes which courier is more reliable because sending passports through IOM is too much expensive I guess

We sent our passports through Fedex and VO returned them through registered mail. We had no problems and everything was done within several days. I think UPS is the cheapest one.

Does anybody noticed that if you go to CheapOair site there are different prizes.

www.cheapoair.com - More expensive
www.cheapoair.ca - More cheaper

Hm.. Could I buy a ticket from site .ca because the tickets are lot chipper?

For example. For 3 of us (2 adults and 3 year old child) on cheaponair.ca one way total 914 EUR, but thru the cheapoair.com one way is 1800 EUR and roud trip 1500 EUR.
