you really do have many questions :D
2500din. is 20eur. for snail mail there are no charges, VO is not charity organization but I don't know any company or organization charging their clients for sending them regular mail?
my friend also sent passports this way, returned in one week time.

Ok thanks! I agree with the most things you wrote, and maybe I am blowing out the cold (pusem na hladno), but I almost lost my "Canadian future" because the 2nd application send in November got lost in mail. And it had tracking number! Imagine the same on this final step - passports get lost ... I Hope that nobody experience this, but it could happen. We all spent a lot of nerves during last year awaiting for PR to let some postman or postal service to determine our fate on that way. Among you probably someone also shares the experience of mail being lost ...

To spare yourself these unpleasant moments I think everyone should go to Vienna in person, regardless of the trip expense and save funds on other other matters for instance airline tickets to Canada!

wow! so many geminis! if nothing, is good to know that june is/was/going to be a lucky month to all of us!

Going to Vienna in person might not be an option for all buddy. For example, I am an Indian who applied for New Delhi VO.
In their infinite wisdom, CIC decided to send my files to Vienna.

Luckily, I am in Germany for work and can go to Vienna is required. But not everyone will have this luck.

Anyway, irrespective of this, lets say one decides to go to Vienna in person, what happens then?
Would they stamp and return the passport the same day or next day latest?

If yes, then I might chose this option. Vienna is a b'ful city and it will be a nice short trip for my and my wife.

Yes, you submit your passports in the morning and collect them in the afternoon same day, stamped.
Pocco suggested going there in person because 95% of Vienna VO's applicants are ex-YU and few hours drive distance from Vienna.
Any news today, anyone, 3rd lines, PPRs, MRs, anything?

You have to be there in person by 9.30 AM and leave your passport. You will get the stamp the same day and pick it up not before 16 PM... something like that... if you are already in this step, check the corect times with Vienna (depending on your start point, average car ride to Vienna lasts some 4 hours for the most people on this forum).

Thats good to know. As I will come from Germany, it will make more sense to arrive there the previous evening. :)

I'm well aware of all possible issues and I won't sleep until we get passports back but, for us, at this moment, it was the only option. ;)
I agree that going in person is the safest option.

Hi all,

I submitted my work permit application a week ago, and the processing time is supposed to be 2 months. I am not sure if I will receive anything from CIC at my residential address or does everything goes over the internet?

I ask because I will leave my current place of residence (France) in around 1 month, and travel directly from my vacation destination (Croatia) to Canada. However, that will not be possible if I need to get back home to collect some papers. So, what is the case?

Thanks

CIC send only info over the internet, precisely on e-mail.
The final documents (work permit in your case) will be send on the address that you stated into your application as current mailing address.
