Very sorry to hear that, Ladybug. Don't give up.

Interesting to read some Macedonian on an English speaking forum. I am also from Macedonia. Ladybug Sk, you can log in on our Macedonian forum, too. Snapsolutions Forum.

Well, we got rejected... The interview went terible with no chances of explanation and with some unexplainable reasons for refusal. The visa officer was rude and unpleasant.
We applied as self employed, music teacher. The visa officer asked why we haven't found a place to stay yet, and why we haven't found a job yet.... In our case students-which is practically impossible at this stage and from here.
He said that we have put an effort but better luck next time.
And also the money that we showed (30K) were not enough, not even taking into consideration the apartment that we have and plan to sell.... How can I be sure that you are going to sell?
I am very dissapointed but we'll wait for the official rejection letter... Do you think we can appeal?

Ladybyg, it is very very wrong what they did to you guys. I've been trying to find a page where a member on the main thread was talking about an appeal, but i couldn't. In any case, definitely, i would contact CIC in Canada, asking to review your interview/interviewer decision, since everything this person at the interview told you was not mandatory ( to find a job, have a place to stay....) beforehand, some of it even possible. I'm very sorry

Thanks guys for the support!
We'll wait for the official information and then decide what to do next.
I have another question - do you think if it is ok to now apply in the express entry system although we are not officialy rejected. And is it ok to apply now under express entry since my IELTS expires april 6?

it is very much ok to apply for ee :)) and i think that your ielts's validity date will be locked in on the date of your ee application submition - not exactly 100% sure on this, but definitely create a profile and submit an application

Yes, definitely go for it!

I find it very specicious that they invited you to a hotel in Skopje instead of in an official Visa office, like Vienna or Sofia. Did you apply via a representative? Or did you apply on your own?

If it was via a representative, I am quite certain that it is a fraud. Your application did not even reach Canada Immigration. I have heard about many fraud in Macedonia nowadays, and I don't know why, but somehow hotel Arka is connected to all of them. However, I have read this on the Macedonian forum, and since I wasn't really interested, I don't remember the details. It is just an assumption.

I meant suspicious, not specicious. I misspelled the word.
No, we applied on our own. We sent the documents to Sidney, ans we got an e-mail from Vienna VO that our docents were received and they even asked us for additional documents. We paid directly to Canada General receives, so I am pretty sure that it is a real thing. And the same guy the same day went to a companu to check the employment of another applicant from Macedonia.... And yes ot is strange to ask us in a Hotel when there is an office in Skopje, but how can I check this out?

Hi everyone,

I would like to share first hand information with you... Yesterday, staff from Canadian embassy in Vienna have visited company in Skopje, Macedonia in order to check the validity of the issued reference letter by that company. Moreover, they asked other employees about the applicant arrangements and its role in the company. The visit was not previously announced, nor reference point of contact was communicated upfront. Be aware that this is possible, and take into consideration that every document validity might be check in depth.

You should look for interview questions and how to prepare for an interview, I believe that there are some posts on this forum about that topic specifically.
