Nice, I once read on CIC news that 1/3 of all immigrants heads to Toronto.I also read everything is now ridiculously expensive there. We are heading to Saskatchewan, Regina precisely. A good place to start with lots of positives compared to other provinces, plus I currently live in Amsterdam, so a bit tired of the big city life. Goodluck with your new life in Toronto.

i was in Toronto few times in the past, unless you have someone that will support you, I would now recommend starting a new life there, Toronto is "full" of people, its so expensive, housing, safety issues etc. Toronto is not good, believe me... I would recommend any small city, small community, avoid Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, search for Central Canada, life is better there, unemployment is lower, living cost is lower, housing 1/2 of Toronto... safety if you are concerned is better.

Hi friends

I do agree with the both of you.. I have lived for a number of years in Toronto but that was back in the good old 80's when things were much simpler.I am heading off to Alberta (Calgary) after being in Europe for 24 years... I know Calgary is also an expensive housing market but otherwise one can find work there much faster and without too much competition.
Toronto on the other hand is definitely a BIG city and has grown double the size from what I remember! But, its an amazing city with many wonderful places and things to see. I wish it was different and I could return there but now my decision is made..Calgary or bust!

Can_man I couldn't agree more with you as my research findings are exactly like you explained above. That also explains my choice of city/province.

Yeah Tom, I wish Toronto was like the good old days, unfortunately not anymore.Calgary is good although progressively becoming like Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal in terms of cost of living. How is your case Tom? Hope you are getting closer.
