Dear friends,

my wife is pregnant and should give birth in our home country in August. Should I notify the visa office now or not?

We got PER from CIC in August 2013 and since then, no news from Vienna VO.

If we get MR now, how does it work for a pregnant women and all those upcoming delays with paperwork?
Do little babies have to go to medical as well?

Dear alta.province,

I think your panel physician will determinate your wife pregnancy and according to this will conduct only subset of tests.
For example, your wife will not have to do chest X-ray.

I skimmed through this medical manual and you might want to see it as well:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/pp/pdf/handbook-extract.pdf

It seems that children also needs to do few tests but I didn't find what about babies (I believe they are not required).
Also panel physician will write all this information on resulting documents.

However I can't say surely should you or not inform Vienna. Maybe it's not bad idea just to make sure?
What do you guys think about this matter?

But I am pretty much sure if your baby gets born before you land in Canada, you will definitely need to get birth certificate and other appropriate documents of newborn and send them to Vienna.
This will result in reevaluation of your application --> you will need new proof of funds (as you will have new dependent) and it will probably introduce some delays in your process. Be prepared on that.

Cheers!

@gcukarski, I hope your interview went fine! If anything happened, that worth mentioning, please share it with us, we are hungry for any news from Vienna...

Medical exam is scheduled for April 2th.
We have opened the door. I wish everybody will come through it soon!

Dear Borojevic,

What does ECAS says about medical results received?
Is there anything new with your application after MR?

Cheers!

No, no news yet. not even a third line on e-cas about medicals. we have done them more than 3 weeks ago.
hope there is nothing to be concerned about. waiting patiently.

i can't believe, i got refusal, with no specific reason. I'm devastated

Hi. So sorry to hear about your refusal. Was it a refusal on your migration or your visitor visa?

I just spoke with my best man, he went through Vienna few years ago and he says that you will probably get direct PPR invitation and no any news before that (including ECAS, very often they don't update it until they issue the visa to you).
Also, average waiting from MR to PPR is around 1.5 - 2 months.
I also hope that you will hold your visa very soon.
Good luck!
