CONGRATULATIONS!!! Finally some good news from Vienna. Please let us know when did you check your ECAS?

Guys I'm not quite familiar with this stage of the processing of our applications.
What does this second line on ECAS actually mean?
Does this mean that they will start looking at our documents, do the background checks... I'm asking this because somebody wrote that Borojevic can expect MR in two weeks.

Second line means they start the Selection Decision part of the process, which is described below:

10. Procedure: Selection decision

10.1. The pass mark

R76(2) empowers the Minister to set the “minimum number of points required of a skilled worker” – or, as it is more commonly known, the “pass mark”. The pass mark was last set on September 18, 2003 at 67 points. Total the applicant’s points in the six selection factors.

At the processing office:

If the applicant’s total score is equal to or greater than the pass mark then the officer will make a final selection decision and proceed to admissibility.
If the applicant’s total score is less than the pass mark then the officer will

  • refuse the application (negative selection decision);
  • record outcome and reasons; and
  • send a letter to inform the applicant

After this the selection decision part is over (hopefully with a positive decision), and comes the admissibility part. They will request MR, RPRF, and if needed fresh Schedule A form, Police Certificate, Passport, etc. When they receive Medicals, there will be a 3rd line in eCAS (Medicals received). They will do the security and background checks here. Then there should be a 4th line, Decision Made, and then you should receive CoPR and Passport with visa stamped, if needed.

Dear friend, congratulations!
You have no idea how happy and enthusiastic I become by reading your news.
If you are here, I would buy you a beer! :)

Now, I truly believe that our endless waiting is slowly going into finish phase.

Cheers!

I'm not sure if I'm right, but I think that process described above was actual in old FSW system.
From 2013 I believe that selection decision was made by CIC while accepting our applications.
Therefore I hope and believe that Vienna should do "only" security check and medical examination (admissibility part).

Please correct me if I'm wrong?

Cheers!

Congrats to Borojevic!

You're faster than me - my application has been delivered in April and no changes after that :'( Despite I'm PNP and have a job offer. But I'm not in a hurry now - We're awaiting for a second baby, so no PR for us in the next 7 months :)

Not exactly, of course the selection decision is simpler now at the VOs, because it was evaluated once by CIO, but the final selection decision is still done by the VOs. I know that, because I have a GCMS Notes for my application, and it shows Selection Decision is still pending. That is what they start with, after they put the 2nd line in eCAS. But we will know very soon, when Borojevic updates us after he hopefully gets Medical Request.

Theoretically, this is about the same as with MI2 and MI3, where a preliminary points-assessment was done by CIO, too.
And look at how this did speed up the process ::)

No medical mail today. Refreshing like crazy.
As for ecas I have checked it last time on Wednesday and then on sunday again. Second line appeared in the mean time.
I will let you know as soon as we get anything.
Thanks for the support!

I read somewhere that they update ECAS weekly on Thursday's.
Thus, I can't say if this is reliable information.
