Hey guys, need your help!! Is IELTS necessary for visa application?? cuz some told me that ielts is university requirement not the visa requirement!! plz help

it is university requirement but it is good if you attach it with ur visa application

the university i want to apply is giving exemption from ielts to some universities(from where i have done by BE)..so i am thinking that if its not the visa requirement so why should i go for the ielts test??

just write a cover letter saying ur university is giving you exemption from ielts and no need to give ielts

guys i think those who are going for sept 2014 session should apply as soon as possible as CHC is taking too long to process applications..as many people for jan 2014 are still waiting for the response from CHC..so better apply by the start of March...

I applied at Humber College for ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY advance diploma and I have been accepted for sept 2014. Now the problem is that , they have just the send scanned copy of my acceptance letter through email .

Kindly let me know that If I apply forVisa as Paper application, will CHC accept that copy or they require original

I will advice you to email the college and ask them if you can apply for visa with print out copy of the Acceptance letter. I have seen people who have applied with color print out of there LOA for Visa but they have first made sure with there respective University or College if they can do so.

I just checked the vfs website and got to know most of the documents I need to collect to apply for a study permit. I just have a few questions regarding the "Proof of Funds", My dad is a businessman and he will be sponsoring me (through bank balance mostly) for the entire duration of my studies.
I want to know what are the different documents my dad has to provide for the same?
How to prove that I will return to Canada after the completion of my studies and family ties etc (I'm naive about this)?
Can I take medical exam a month or so before applying for visa?
Is obtaining a GIC must under general category?
Best method of payment of tution fee for the first term?

When did you receive your admission confirmation? It takes atleast 6 to 8 weeks for the hardcopy of your LOA to reach u.

@doppel9: I just want to ask you that when you applied for masters program in Dalhousie for September-2014 intake. while applying online what did you select in the field "Admission Term": 2013/2014 summer or 2014/2015 Fall ??

I recived Confirmation on 29 of jan, after few days of waiting for hard copy of LOA I emailed them simply asking when will I recive my LOA and they replied on same day that they don't send hard copy. So after that , I again emailed them to make sure that CHC accept printout copy of LOA and for that they still haven't responed.

Well like I said it can take up to maximum 2 months to reach you. I received mine in approx 1.5months. They are sending by post so that's why it takes this much time to reach you. You may receive it in mid of March or end of February.

Uni takes time to respond to queries so just wait.
