That is the process. Congrats. It basically means you submit your passport, they will make sure it is real and would stamp on it.

They don't say it is approved because if for some reason they have to refuse latter (almost impossible) but say if you fail to submit passport. Or the passport you submit now has some thing really different from the scan submitted earlier etc. or God knows what.

I know it pretty well being in the process for a good length of time and having seen many cases and details.

For the time to stamp, it takes any where between a week to a little over a month. It depends upon time of year when you applied i.e. how busy the embassy is at the moment etc. I have known people who received passports back after a week and also those whose case took over a month, but definitely not beyond 40 days.

btw, a passport submission requires some fee to be submitted to the bank as well right?

Emmm - work permit time lines are different from study permit. I am not a student visa applicant So it is pretty much as expected.

There is nothing to be submitted to banks. You send you passports via tcs or fedex as far as i know. They charge their fee for processing of passport. I guess tcs charges around PKR 400 where as fedex charges PKR 1800. However, tcs does not include the cost of return and the delivery guy would take separate charges upon passports returned.

Fedex cost includes that already too .

Suggestion - use fedex, it is more reliable and traceable.

They asked for the original transcript from my university, that I mailed them (FedEx because it reaches quite quickly then) and otherwise I just scanned the documents and sent to them. I made sure which way they wanted them, by first emailing them and asking them.
Yes I took IELTS as well, I had a score of 8.0
