Visa process different for individual candidate. There is also the factor of volume of applications.
For Example: Most universities in Canada will notify you in April if you have been accepted for September intake. It normally takes about a month to get the official letter and you will see a high number of applications in May. This will slow things down for everyone. But you do have examples in this board where people applied right at the beginning of April and go their visa in 30-45 days. But things will be slower for those who file in May. This does not mean they are not getting the visa; its just a volume issue.
If you file online, they get your complete application the same day. Its digital so it goes right into their system unlike a paper app which needs to be entered in manually. You will see that most people on Online Application will get their medical pretty fast. When I went for my Medical; there were 3 guys there who has applied in the last 10 days and has received their medical request. I applies on a Friday evening and got my request for a medical on Monday at 10am. All were online applications.
I was lucky (Alhumduallah) that the university notified me on 1st of March that I was accepted into the program. But it took an extra week for the Graduate Studies Department to okay my application and then it took 3 more weeks for me to get the physical letter (1st of April). Now, I did not apply till 19th April but that was my own fault entirely.
Anyway; weeks, months and years from now you will look at this time and laugh at how worried were you about this. It is sad that most students are worried about their education but we worry more about our Visas (the curse of being a Pakistani). Inshallah things will work out.

i will be applying for my study permti a monday paper based, But now after reading all these posts am thinking to apply online but the thing is that its confusing and new, people dont know about this yet ,

if you have prepared your documents then dont be confused go and apply via courier instead of online ... if you are ready then you should apply paper base still you have couple of time ... online process is bit confused and if you wont be able to submit or explaining to visa officer about your self then result may be can not in favor!!!

I got offered admission in COCORDIA UNIVERSITY,Montreal QUEBEC
Received OFFER LETTER by email.
To apply for CAQ ( Quebec Acceptance Certificate ) it is must one should get OFFER LETTER soon in Hardcopy by MAIL.
University sends Offer letter by mail via regular post, that takes lot of time.
THe other procedure is to brought it by DHL .
I asked DHL to pick my OFFER LETTER from University, ( on the Details i was given by UNI ),
Now its been more than WEEK , DHL can't track the Status of the JOb.
They say that Your Parcel must not be picked up from the Uni ..
I asked uni to please give the parcel to the Requested Shipment reference of DHL ...
They say they need BARCODE DHL WAY BILL ..
and DHL say they can't issue Way bill b4 parcel is picked up ..
Please help . If any one has done the DHL process to bring Offer letter.

Dear, i got my letter thru DHL and it took around 1 week. have u sent mail to uni representative ( her name and contact would be in ur letter of acceptance mail) ??. process was simple, DHL guys want u to email them details and they have a form to fill in.
make a call to DHL and ask them to email u why it is delayed and u can forward that email to uni representative.
