My journey was started in 2006... I am here in Canada since then it just took long time to get this stupid card... which is called P.R card...
I had experience in IT industry in different domains and have some certifications too..

I would like to drop this post here for useful websites..

I always use and suggest people to use job sites as given..

Check on www.craigslist.org whatever city you are going for..
www.indeed.ca
www.workopolis.com

in Alberta use www.calgaryjobshop.ca or whatever city you are in if edmonton put edmonton first..

and yeah most of the companies don't have current requirements but postings are still up on websites and when we apply we think company didn't call you because of resume or less experience or something.. but reality is because company takes it off from their own website then they don't get your resume.

so always look for job posting and find company name and then go on company's website and apply there.

Hello Everyone And who got visa,

Y’day one of my friend got DECISION MADE and today address has been change from Mailing address to Home address what does it mean? She has applied through agent and while filling up Generic Form my friend has select Ontario as Home address (As there was not options of INDIA) but she is living in India, so can I come to know that she got finally VISA? After getting address change within how many days she will get her Passport back?

2. Where to go after landing and finishing formalities on airport?

3. She is planning to land Calgary? will it ok? she had search from net and decided.

4. what will me monthly expense over there as they are couple only.

6. Is there Taxis are costly if she will move here and there for staying in hotel as instant she wont get house or apartment.

2. Where to go after landing and finishing formalities on airport? (Make a plan before coming to Canada.. If you don' t know anybody it could be hard in Toronto but I guess you guys know people now ( Look for website www.kijiji.ca and www.craigslist.org)
www.kijiji.ca is better option. Look for 1 Bedroom Basement apartment in Malton, Brampton, Mississauga, Etobicoke (IF Landing in Toronto). Don't send anybody any advance for anything Once again do not forward money to anybody for anything..

Looking for basement is don't sign for any contract. look for pics on kijiji.. whoever has no pics on website or they don't send it to you (if they tell any problem ) don't accept it.
there are some people living in toronto from this forum.. if ask for help if they don't let me know.. I would try to help as much as possible.. I have a lot of friends there who can help for accommodation search.

3. She is planning to land Calgary? will it ok? she had search from net and decided. (On What points she made this search and plan? Please let us know about her education and background and her husband's education and background importantly).

If planning to move to calgary for Indian's first landing place and renting place should be NorthEast Area. yes its not easy to find apartment or basement now a days because of a lot of immigrants and movings from Ontario and other places of canada and yes in North east there is a new train station so rents gone up) like one of my friend and his wife are looking for a nice basement from 2 months they couldn't find it now they are staying with other family friends if they were getting any place then a crapy place for around $900 + 50% utilities which is not worth it..

about the job yes there are a lot more jobs here then toronto because less population and more work but again depends on your background.
money is same because expenses are more here..

4. what will me monthly expense over there as they are couple only. ( monthly expense for a couple will start with rent say if luckily they find a cheap basement which would be $800 minimum + $250 grocery + phone bills you can say from $25-40 i would recommend $50 for both for good connection to call all over canada, $100 for bus per person if they buy monthly pass.. suggestion is to buy one monthly pass and if both have to travel other person can get ticket at time which is $3 for 1.5 hour travel.

5. What address to give to immigration officer for PR card. (If you have nobody in canada then find somebody and give their address.. what can i say or when you land tell the officer that you will find address and will call them then right after open bank account and with two ID's buy a Post box and send the address of post box to Immigration department for PR card

6. Is there Taxis are costly if she will move here and there for staying in hotel as instant she wont get house or apartment.

Taxi is really expensive but if you have somebody known ask them to pick you up and just for the sake of put gas in it for $20 max if its a big deal for somebody to help. and to find cheap hotels in canada one site is suggested which i have used like 100 times or over www.hotwire.ca best hotel deals i would say most of hotels have free breakfast thing.

Landing in Calgary in September is fine i would say they will be starting their journey with starting of Cold..
