I recommend u too take swiss air enroute Zurich. Single ticket @ 40000.. I booked it thru an agent @ sec. 34 Chandigarh...

Here is my experience bout funds.

Smbdy referrd me sbi foreign exchange. It is cheapest of u carry money on a draft. Total 1000 rs. For 12000 $. Nd of u want travelers cheque. They charge on percentage basis for 12000$. My estimatewas 5000rs.

Bt in case of dd total fees was 1000rs. Inclusive everything.

Fired exchangr.... Like western union nd others they don't ask for any fees. But they give u a selling price higher than the current rate . Like 50 p extras. E.g. if rate is 56.05 u 'll have to pay 56.55 for 1 $.
This way they charge 7000 to 10000 rs. Per conversion.

Dear Prince, as far as I concern Travel Check can be used instantly but DD (from an international bank) take some time to be cleared..isn't that ?? Secondly, I've got your point regarding to fees of DD and TC from SBI but I have a question..what is the difference between exchange rate of a DD and TC.

Have u got your funds converted form SBI..??
Glad to know that U r landing next week,so where u gonna stay and how much u pay for air tickets and what was the baggage allowance?? Sorry mate I have put million of question in one post but I may get an Idea for my landing preparation!!
