How r u ??? I checked with my bank i.e. Union Bank of India & they said that they haven't got any circular about DD. So their DD is still valid for 6 months (Either in INR or Foreign Currency) 8) 8) 8) & cheques are valid for 3 months only... :(

Hi Babbu,
My status is still not changed; Only RPRF is encahsed
My friend whose RPRF was encashed on Mar 25th is still waiting for Decision Made status and passport

Seems like some background/security check will happen and timeline is uncertain as its being handled by private concern

But it can be any time now, so hoping for something best and soon :))

Rgds,
Ram

Regarding DD validity, the draft I took had a note saying "Effective Apr 1, 2012, Drafts are valid only for 3 months from date of issue as per RBI regulations"

Not sure if few banks didnt receive the order for the same :S

Wat do u mean by Private Concern?

Will CIC get background check done from outsource ppls.

yes, that's how i read in almost all blogs/forums.
Also, few of the replies from VO for the inquiries had confirmed it; they have mentioned that they can not tell timeline as it depends on when they get report from the private company on bg/security check

Seems like it would be hard to meet NDVO DD specification....

Do they say that DD has to be valid for 6 months ??

Payment method options

Complete the Fee Payment Form – Application for Permanent Residence – Federal Skilled Worker Class (IMM 5620) and include it with your application to the CIO. On-line payments are not accepted by the CIO.

In Canadian funds only, you may pay:
by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the “Receiver General for Canada” or
with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)

Note: Certified cheques, bank drafts and money orders may have expiry dates. When you submit your application to the CIO, the expiry date must be at least five months into the future.

If there is no expiry date on your certified cheque, money order or bank draft and it is drawn on a foreign bank, it can only be cashed for 6 months from the date of issue. To ensure it can still be cashed when the fee payment is processed at the CIO, it must be issued no more than 30 days before you send your application to the CIO.

If you are paying by credit card, please ensure that your credit card will be valid for at least nine months from your submission date.

If we are unable to process your payment, your application will be returned to you.

Important information. Each application from a principal applicant must include a fee payment form. This form must include the fees for the principal applicant and any accompanying family members.

The same fee payment form may not be used for more than one principal applicant.

Important: Do not enclose cash.
If you are applying at one the following visa offices and are unable to pay in Canadian funds, please visit the responsible Visa Office website for fee payment instructions and to obtain the fee payment form.
