Damn....they put my wife's photo on my COPR...now I'll have to resend the COPR to them...

I would advise you to call the CIC regarding this issue, it might not be necessary to resend ur CoPR to Ottawa. I am not sure, but it might be possible to make corrections during landing. Check this link:

Landing inside Canada:
call 18882422100，select 1 (language)，select 1 (immigration)，select 2（Permanent Resident），select 0(Urgent Number, talk to people) to make an appointment. It looks like taking longer than going directly to the boarder.

Do we need to make appointment for landing? we just got the visa and prepare for landing some day soon. I heard from other friends that we just need to
go to one border to do the landing.

Just passport, study/work permit, COPR, and u may also bring a proof of fund showing ur current balance (just in case). Good luck

Dear all, I'm reading some of the posts here about the reference letters, and I have one questions: If the RA letter says I am a "full time" PhD student, does that mean I cannot work "full time" for my RA, because one cannot study 40 hours a week and work another 40 hours a week? However, many of the successful reference letters on this forum say so. I'm confused...

Also, if you're importing a vehicle, this is the time to declare it because you avoid paying the importation taxes on the vehicle when the proper vehicle form is presented at landing.

I applied for PhD steam in Feb 22, 2013. I got rejection letter on April 29, 2014. I had 18 months of work experience in my home country, described under NOC code 2121. I provide a letter of reference explaining main duties, salary etc. At the moment I received the rejection email, I sent them an email and provided a new reference letter I got from my professor here. In their reply they offered me to submit the application again however they did not guaranteed acceptance of that letter. I quote the letter of reference I initially submitted below:

This is written to Certify that MR. XXX XXXX has worked full time as a research technician in the XXXX lab of XXXX assisting to conduct two prominent research projects
1- Title of project 1
2- Title of project 2
His duties include writting research proposal, taking samples from the field, application of biotechnological techniques for population genetic studies. He was paid a salary of for 18 month period of contract starting from Oct 23, 2008 to May 23, 2010. For your old letter:
- is a research technician position listed in the NOC 2006 or 2011?
- Was your work expereince separate from your study?
- Did you include the leading statement and job duties related to your job title in the NOC 2006 or 2011?
You can contact the MP in your area to see what he can do. He may be able to get you more details.
You can go to the federal court within a limitted period from receiving the rejection.

I am sorry to ask but why should we consider if our work experience is separate from our studies?

New applicants please notice that you should not only include the lead statement (assist professor ... in research activities...) in your RA ref. letter, but also a substantial number (almost all) of the RA main duties and these two terms: "assist professor in data analysis..." and "assist professors in the preparation of journal article or papers..." to be safe.

Yes, this is a very good suggestion. I noticed that some new applicants try to prepare a ref. letter imitating the successful ref. letters without considering the key points. This is not a safe method because if you copy without understanding the regulations and because your case is very different, then a small error may lead to your rejection.
