Ta is about 12 hours, but for RA it seems acceptable to present the normal amount of work hours - 15 hours of the "full time study"=25 hours. I believe most people applied with RA shown as 37.5 hours, actually.
Thanks TyrusX! I just did not get the part you said : 15 hours of the "full time study"=25 hours!
Could u please explain it to me?
And the last thing, since I am a full time student, is it OK to claim to be a full time employee(RA) at the same time as well or I should say that it is a part time job?!

Yes they need a letter from Human Resource
Yes, I included a letter from my direct supervisor detailing the work I do as a course instructor/TA, another letter from Human Resources that had the exact info of my work dates and pay rates, and then of course the PhD attestation letter from the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Full times studies=15 hours a week, so you should be able to claim 25 hours of RA per week, just to be on the safe side. What is kind of ridiculous, because everyone here works like 80 hours right ? :D

Thanks guys! I have some RA and I taught a course, but it doesn't add up to that much. Can I email them to withdraw or do I have to mail anything? Best.

Hi all,

Could anyone tell me whether I am eligible to apply the phd stream? I am a phd student having two years RA and 4 month internship from a local company. No other work experiences and no degrees obtained in Canada. My aunt is Canadian citizen. My wife has bachelor degree (not from Canada also).

Somewhere (this forum and other forums) said the applicant is required to complete a program in Canada. Is that a strict requirement? Has anyone who has the similar background with me been successful?

Thank you very much.

I think you are eligible for this stream. You don't need a canadian degree, if u would have then u would get 5 extra adaptability points. However, u r getting 5 points from ur relative though. TA nd RA for two yours should be good enough. As longs as you have 37.5 hrs/week for 1 yr is sufficient, it could be continuous or equivalent of part-time. Please go thorough some previous pages of this forum you will get some better helpful information from others as well.

salam20, thanks! My previous work experience - including the almost 1000 during my undergraduate studies - are not in the right NOCs. Life wasn't as glorious back then. =)

Well. Be patient and wait until next year then. Worst case scenario you apply on CEC after graduating and working an extra year.

If you have 1560 hours of work experience as a RA in last 3 years, you can apply under CEC next year

Nothing we can do dude. They aren't giving any priority to 2012 applications at all with all the backlog they are attempting to clear.

CEC would require at least 3,900 hours within the last 3 years (if you don't have a Canadian degree), so this would be close to impossible to fulfill by TA/RA experience alone. If you have a Canadian degree, then you would only need 1,900 hours, but only the last two years would count.
