Yes we are. Wanna try gettin CAIPS and telling us how did it go?AST said:Anyone here managed to get OHIP with PER?
Are we eligible to apply for CAIPS? If so, will OHIP office accept CAIPS as a valid document to issue OHIP?

Sydney had been pretty active on processing cases from March to May. Now it seems much slower than that period.Jhvan604 said:I sent my application in the end of June(June 26th) and it was received on June 28th.
But I haven't heard anything from Sydney... In addition haven't charged yet.
wondering what they are doing in Sydney..
My application was received on 6th of July. No CC yet and nothing from them yet. But I saw in the chart that many applicants got CC in about 2weeks and less(for applicants of the last 2-3 months).Aaron2012 said:Sydney had been pretty active on processing cases from March to May. Hi specialmary, can you tell us where you got the impression that your work experience would not count? As long as it is skill level A, B, or O, your work experience should count towards points calculation, and also the minimum requirement (though to be ELIGIBLE for MI-3 FSW1, you need to have at least one year continuous experience in one of the 29 occupations, and eligibility comes BEFORE assessment of minimum requirements). We know that RA/TA counts as skill level A, and so is university lecturer. I'm not sure about health policy researcher though.specialmary said:I have a question. Does anyone know whether you can combined NOCs (e.g., one is university research and teaching assistant; another is health policy researcher; a third one is university lecturer) to fulfill the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT of one-year continuous full-time equivalent work experience in Federal Skilled worker program?
I know that you cannot do it for Federal Skilled Worker Category 1 (the old stream [Eligible NOCs] that has been scrapped out). But how about the Ph.D. Stream?
There was no mention that the work experience must be of the listed 29 on-demand occupations. Through fulfilling the requirement for PhD stream, you are eligible for processing, after which all of your skill level A, B, or O work experience should, at least in theory, count towards the six selection factors, and also the minimum requirements (though there have been a lot of rejections lately, due to mismatches in duties and responsibilities). You must have at least one year of continuous full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment
You must have had this experience within the last 10 years
Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupation Classification (NOC)
We got the email from our graduate office in english and french both for the program, so I think Quebec students can apply. Also the program deemed similar in Quebec is only if you have graduated and have intermediate level french. So doors closed for majority of students from english universities. Quebec immigration is without logic and most hardcore bureaucratic system. I have been declined CSQ by Quebec though I speak french and have certificates, work ex, about to finish PhD. In demand profession. I was short by one point.TyrusX said:I think that PhD Students in Quebec cannot apply for this stream. But, and I maybe wrong, I think there is a similar stream in Quebec.
I didn't know that we are eligible for OHIP with PER.TyrusX said:Yes we are. Wanna try gettin CAIPS and telling us how did it go?
I meant we are elegible to get CAIPS. I have no idea about OHIP as I'm in Alberta.MASOUD2011 said:I didn't know that we are eligible for OHIP with PER.
Would you let us know how to apply? Any website?
Thanks
As per the OHIP rule, those who got positive eligibility review are eligible for OHIP. I tried with the softcopy of PER email, but OHIP office needs to see some hardcopy. So, i guess, the only possible way is to apply for CAIPS and try with it.MASOUD2011 said:I didn't know that we are eligible for OHIP with PER.

Thanks AST! Then, how can we apply for CAIPS (I don't even know what it is!)?AST said:As per the OHIP rule, those who got positive eligibility review are eligible for OHIP. Just curious, how different are OHIP and UHIP? Why not just wait till the PR comes to apply for OHIP? I don't know about other universities but in mine we can claim the expense we paid for the UHIP premium.AST said:As per the OHIP rule, those who got positive eligibility review are eligible for OHIP. If you are still student you are fine. But I will graduate by end of summer and have to get private insurance. OHIP will be helpful then!Luigiovemma said:Just curious, how different are OHIP and UHIP? Why not just wait till the PR comes to apply for OHIP?
