Yes, I applied in October 2013 via ICAS-Canada and got the ECA report in Feb 2014. The reason why I chose ICAS was because it is in the town where I live, so I did not have to spend money mailing documents, but ICAS is the slowest to process the assessment. I heard that WES is the fastest.

Thanks for the information. CES is turning out to be quite slow too. Its been a little over 3 months now and I am still waiting. Not sure if its worthwhile to send another application to WES as it might be in time for January 2015 deadline. However there are still a couple of months almost and CES might come through. Decisions, decisions....

My university does recognize my work as RA (weird!!! the salary are from 3 : baseline--from school, supervisor's grant and TA) How can I get enough working hours evaluated?!...
RA is a term which is specially referred to paid staff( crazy!!!!!!!!)
Will the supervisor's reference be sufficient? If he is reluctant to say I am RAing, what else can I do......

Visa/Passport Received: 30-Oct (CanadaPost tracker was activated 29-Oct)

Landed: 31-Oct

Current eCAS status: Complete (decision was made within the first week of October)

Suggest you use WES, it is really fast! Both my friend's and mine ECA were finished in a week after documents received!!
Although they sent email saying ECA would be ready on 21, Nov, we received it by the end of OCT!!!

I have my medical done on 23 Oct. but they have not update my status yet. How can I know that if CIC has received my medical reports? Should I send my immigration medical receipts by email?

Secondly, how much time it takes after immigration medical to get passport request?

The best bet would be to ask your physician and make sure they've sent the report to CIC. The report then goes through medical department of CIC and you'll have no control over it. In 99% of cases, if physician sends the report, CIC receives it on time.

Regarding your second question, there is ABSOLUTELY no firm answer. There has been people here waiting for over 5 months and I've seen some people who got their PPR in less than two weeks. So, just sit back, relax, and wait.

I was rejected due to these same reasons but this was almost a year ago or so. Currently I am waiting for my ECA from U of T but its been more than 3 months. So I have not been able to reapply yet. Is there any chance I can get my previous case reopened as well given that its been quite a while since it was closed ?

One of my friend was able to re-open it after about 7 months. If you have time to prepare court documents I would suggest to do it.

I am right after you with a difference of 10 days! I have not contacted MP, but they told me that everything is received and I have to wait! It is getting too long now and unfortunately it is not certain when it will get finalized!

I know! Its just crazy!!!

I did my medicals on the 20th of October, yet my status has not been updated online. I decided to call the clinic where I did it today and discovered they had not sent it. Thats 2 weeks down the drain. They later called and said they sent it today. My advice is that you call your clinic too. Some folks are just careless! Is it too much for me to rely on a service provider to perform their own part of the deal in a timely manner? smh

They need those labels to stick them on an envelope in case they need to return your application because of incompleteness, or they want to send something to you... it basically means they don't want to take a few mins to look up your home address and write it themselves! They're asking for two labels, one in the original language and one in English. Of course, if you are inside Canada you should write both in EN.
