I received the following message below after sending in my passport , How do i handle this? Any suggestions please?


In light of current IRCC guidelines, permanent resident visas (PRV) and Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) cannot be issued for economic applicants with medical results valid for less than a specific period of time, currently set at six months.



We will hold your passport until we are able to issue it, either because our restrictions change or we receive authorization to request additional information that allows us to issue the PRV and COPR (e.g. a new medical exam).

Can you give medical in the absence of physical passport? If yes, you should go ahead to avoid further details.

Hello I contacted IRCC to check the status of my application and I was told they don’t have any information concerning that as my visa office is Accra. Please has anyone here successfully contacted Accra visa office? Been calling them but they keep sending me to voicemail

I passed on the 8th of Jan. Yet to receive PPR.

Dear All,
Is there anyone with AOR as old as December 25th 2018 that is yet to get PPR? Biometrics submitted and medicals passed as far back as Feb 2019? Specific to Accra Visa office.

Since then I have not gotten any updates.

That agent doesn't want to share info but he can see the details. They're not obliged to share info when VO is outside Canada.

Mine is Nairobi VO. A few agents didn't want share info but the last one shared with me.

Wow! That means I should keep calling IRCC? Please by info, do you mean the agent was able to tell you your eligibility and background status?

I've decided to book a remedical since my existing medical has expired and there's no extension in sight.
I read a few accounts on nairaland from applicants who went proactive and did a remed without being asked to after theirs expired in November 2020. One of them got PPR just last week. In as much as not every testimony we read is true, I feel like there's no harm in trying.
However, I'd like to know if anybody in this forum has done same. What was the outcome? What do you all advice?

This silence from Accra (and IRCC in general) is killing me. I'm January 2020 AOR. Med expired December 19th 2020.

Please for those who recently traveled blindly help answer the questions below..

#1. Please are you a 'new COPR', approved after March 2020? (NOT sponsored, and NOT a returning PR)

#2. Did you book a ticket and travel in direct disregard of the advisory not to yet? ( for those that received COPR after march 2020)

#2. What motivated/prompted you to do so with boldness?

#3. What was your interaction with the border officer like, even if you were let in?
No mention, no questions, no caution?

#4. Also, did they ask about your quarantine plan?

#5. Please help a brother and family (new COPR) clarify anything I'm missing, as I already quit my job, my rent will soon expire and we are running out of money.

#4. Note that because of accompanying toddlers, I cannot risk travelling without being sure we'll be let in without any hassle. Or God Forbid, turned back!

Their webchat works. If you can't get through with the call, chat them up, I was able to chat with someone today via that tracking link you will see webchat. I was told my passport hasn't been dispatched yet.. dunno why even though I hear their is a racket going on with dispatch.. if you want to get it fast you tip a particular guy N2500 to dispatch ASAP... I will patiently wait!!!

I called VFS just now and was initially told my passport was still in transit. I said it cannot be in transit for this long. Then the customer care rep said oh wait!, your passport just arrived right now so she then sent the courier consent form to me. Jeez, just want to receive my passport and then relax a bit. Hopefully UPS would deliver it on time.

I got through to them on webchat and was told mine got in on Friday, the would dispatch on Wednesday
