Seniors I'm a bit worried. Nearly 60 days since AOR n approximately 3 weeks since end of Procedural Fairness response and absolutely nothing. I've heard silence is a good thing but I'm not comfortable with this silence. Any advise?

I received the same procedural fairness about a month ago and I replied with the documents and LOE. Three weeks ago I have not heard from AVO too mIt will end in praise .

Congrats to everyone with positive responses.

I received another update from CIC today.

An additional document has been requested (even though what we were expecting is a notification saying approved and closed and then our pick up mail) since we submitted our passports and was received on 19th May, 2016.

My husband had his Chinese visa cancelled when he was to enter China in 2012 without them giving any cogent reason, he was to go for a meeting/training sponsored by his former employer. So he was sent back to Nigeria without entering China. So CIC has requested us to explain why his visa to China was cancelled.

After that unpleasant experience, he has travelled to South Africa and United Kingdom in 2014 and 2015 respectively, though not with the same passport as the passport expired.

When we were to travel for vacation to the UK in 2015, we stapled his old passport that Chinese authority cancelled his visa on, we included it because he had a 2008 South Africa visa on it, we didn't want to go to the UK embassy with just his new passport that had just one record of travel. We wanted all his travel records reflected.

Erroneously we still attached this same old passport for our Canada passport submission, we really shouldn't have because really the passport has expired. I just didn't think it would be a problem since the UK authority granted us visit visa last year even when we submitted the old passport stapled with the new one.

Well, we intend to explain saying the Chinese authority claim the passport was fake, hence the visa was cancelled because really they didn't give a cogent reason for his entry other than that.

We hope such reason would be tenable to CIC, after all if we had anything to hide, we could have removed the old expired passport and we wouldn't have had this issue, lesson learnt through.

Hi my people, I need your urgent help. I just got AVO message that application has been refused for insufficient fund. The major account statement I have used throughout the application is the joint account statement I have with my cousin. I got fairness letter after medical in July 2015 regarding POF, so I sent updated statement of same account (with about N2mil) and explained why I had the joint account with my cousin. I also included my foreign (as I reside in Europe) account statement (with about 9500€) and explained the source of the bulk payments. Nothing happened since August 2015 that they acknowledged receipt of the documents till this afternoon that I got the refusal letter.

Please, I need your valuable suggestion on how to resolve this. Thanks

I have a question for you. This question will enable me to determine how you can formulate your response to their request. Did you state it on the Schedule A form that your husband was denied entry into China? This is because they asked this question on that form.

to the best of my knowledge, cic only accepts joint account with spouse/common law partner. others are yours or spouse accounts. so a joint account with your cousin may be where the issue is

If yes, my husband actually interpreted this question to mean visa denial and not entry denial (I guess a mistake on our part), infact that is why he stated in his travel history form that he was in China for 1 day. We didn't think the visa cancellation at the point of entry would raise eyebrow in our Express entry application, hence we would not have included his old expired passport that has the cancelled Chinese visa, we felt we had nothing to hide.

We actually don't intend to 'formulate' a response per say, our response (which is the truth) would state that he was denied entry because the Chinese airport officers that attended to him at the point of entry claimed his passport appeared damaged, a claim he countered but he was asked to go back to Nigeria to clear himself. Upon getting to Nigeria, he approached the immigration officers and his passport was declared authentic and in good shape. It was an official trip sponsored by his former employer so he didn't pursue the visa cancellation further. He just renewed his passport upon expiry and have done other foreign trips with the new passport (with the old one attached).

I just thought of bringing it here to ask if our true reason would be tenable enough to CIC?
