youre welcome!! yes, both will have an individual UCI... only one applicant can link the account -- the UCI can be used to view ECAS though!!!

You're a life saver! Thank you so much again. :)

So I'm all linked up, now it's just a waiting game for now? What should I expect next?!

Thank you for the response starnaenae!! My sponsors actually just got her aor! :)

Is it normal for the sponsor and applicant to have two different UCI numbers? Does this mean my sponsor can create her own account?
Yes
You sponsor will say a decision made, which is to say she/he is approved to sponsor you.
And yours will show in progress. You can go online without an account and see the status on each side with the UCI number

Lately, this is not happening. Sponsor side is showing DM, but Applicant side shows "Application Received" (seemingly until there is a landing interview).

That description (sans UCI, because unless you use it, you won't see it) is eCAS.

Sorry, a little confused lol. Which one should I watch for the status of my application?
You can use ecas, but once linked to cgkey you can use your cgkey to get the updates

Since you locked your partner out of myCIC, use that. Your partner can use eCAS..

Also, what is the difference between ecas and gckey?!
ECAS provides status updates such as We Received Your File.... we began processing your file... things like that... gckey is where you go to to upload requested documents as well as where to see the explicit information of your application, for example, the status of your background check or your medical exam if it has been passed

My ecas says "my name" and "application received"

My sponsors says "my name" "in process" and "application received"

Is this all normal activity for 1 day after aor?

Do I find out if I got SA on gckey or ecas?
I see SA with my own UCI (not the applicant uci) in ecas
