Hi ngelsa
Is it possible to go with medical test before medical request?
I have tuberculosis in year 2009 and it was cured in mid of 2010 and I am sure that I will be ask for re medical test from CIC so in that case is it possible if I will go for the medical test which they will ask me at the later stage and provide to the doctor at the time of medical appointment
Yes it is possible, but I don't recommend it.
I have an upfront medical done because Express Entry requested it, and I am just using the same one for my PNP PR to move it along to see which one will give me PR sooner.
In my honest opinion, it is always best to wait until you receive MR then go do the medical exam and always ensure to employ a clinic that has the e-Medical system so they can submit the results electronically. However, keep in mind that after you have received your MR you have 30 days to complete your medical exam and some clinics do not have immediate openings, so you may want to check out the list of physician that CIC approved to do medical exam in your area and ask them how far are they booking for immigration medical exam.
What happens when you do an upfront medical is the clinic will create a Medical File for you and then forward it to CIC. On the other hand, when CIC request that you do a medical, CIC already created the file and all the clinic has to do is to pull up the file and submit the results under that file number. Which is why it will be more complicated to submit an upfront medical after and probably a good idea to wait for MR from CIC.
So, when you have an upfront medical done, you will have to get CIC to link the medical file they created to the upfront medical file that the clinic created, and I am sure they won't be happy about it but let see what happens. Also note that you need to find out where your application is located (still with CIO or already at Ottawa) because it affects where you are going to send your upfront medical.
Hope that answers your question.
