This all happened a lot quicker than expected. Step by step timeline below which might be helpful for others.

Self-prepared PR application for an outland spousal sponsorship with child (US citizens)...

May 21, 2019 - application received (via courier receipt) Sydney Intake Centre
July 17, 2019 - AOR email received with May 28, 2019 lock-in date
July 19, 2019 - Biometrics Request Letter
July 22, 2019 - Sponsor eligibility decision made, sponsor requirements met
July 22, 2019 - Medical Exam Request
July 26, 2019 - Application sent to CPC Mississauga for further processing
Aug 06, 2019 - Request to submit proof of payment (RPRF) Right of Permanent Residence Fee
Aug 14, 2019 - Medical Exam done
Aug 16, 2019 - Medical Exam Results electronically sent to CIC
Aug 19, 2019 - Passport Request (PPR)

Congrats!

Mine is a similar situation (Canadian spouse, US Citizen, but no children) and has moved roughly as quickly as yours did, so I'm hoping once I do my biometrics next monday that it'll finish as quickly as yours has as well!

How come you had to do biometrics? my wife is a US citizen and they refunded the biometrics fees that we paid.
