hmmm.... I wonder why it takes so much time for someone from the same country while another one gets within few days..... weird....
It can be a number of factors. Nationality, names matching up in a database, date of birth, countries traveled to, time unaccounted for, etc. It's the same way with RCMP checks. Some people get them, some people don't. For most people CSIS will send a No Reportable Trace to CIC, and the PPR will be sent out right after the medicals are set to passed. But for others CSIS can take several months to complete the security review.

I've seen a combination of approaches from the VOs in sending MRs and RPRFs. Sometimes the VO will "pass" the eligibility of an applicant and send the MR and RPRF. Other times, the applicant could be "recommended passed", and the VO may send the MR, RPRF, both, or neither. In case the RPRF is not received at this stage, it will be sent when the file is reviewed and passed by another VO. The application status typically changes to In Process after the eligibility is set to passed.

This has nothing to do with security, which only starts after you have been found eligible. In my case, I received the MR in December, but my ECAS status remained App Received until February, when it changed to In Process and I received a request for RPRF. My GCMS notes indicated I was recommended passed in December, and then the RPRF email in Feb said I was found eligible. So it took 2 months from the MR to the RPRF, which may not be typical.
Thanks for the info spookyb! I hope to hear from them soon...but it seems like they will probably take 2 months or so...I noticed that the people who didn't get the RPRF request with the medical usually got it after 2-3 months. Keeping my fingers crossed..

Some countries are probably red flagged in my opinion but then they would also look at your age, history, etc...It took me and 2 of my other friends 3 months to get the TRV...we were all from the same country

Did your ECAS status change to InProcess prior to getting the RPRF email ? I saw some applicants from April 2014 whose ECAS changed to inprocess while they haven't yet paid RPRF.
