Hello all, first of all congrats and secondly, thank you for this thread! This has already been so helpful. I wanted to get the groups thoughts on a couple of things if someone has insight:
1. Based on the below timeline would you say the background check status is a ghost/incorrect status or would you say it indicates the application is in the final stages pending the biometrics completion?
2. Would I be able to switch jobs now if it would mean the NOC would change for my new job title? I have an offer I might be interested in but don't want to jeopardize the PR application in any way!
Timeline:
MEP: 11/23/2022
Biometrics request on: 11/23/2022
Biometrics appointment scheduled on: 12/08/2022
Additional payment requested and submitted: ($85 additional requested for biometrics): 11/23/2022
Additional Docs Status (for the $85 additional payment): In review as of 11/25/2022

Considering that you haven't submitted your biometrics yet this is most likely an incorrect status. That being said, my BG status changed to 'we are processing...' when I got my MEP & BIL and so far it stayed the same so who knows
Thank you! Yes that is what I was leaning towards as well. If it changes back to in review and then back to "we are processing" after the biometrics I'll probably read into it more but not till then haha. I remember having a chat with an immigration lawyer and asking this question. No, it's not an issue - you've already met the requirements for that specific NOC. I don't know if there would be an issue if your new NOC was not eligible for FSW but otherwise it makes no difference.
