AOR not received

We sent our application to CIC and unfortunately did not track it. We sent it in the mail on April 16. Assuming they received it April 26 latest, that is 2 months ago and we have still not received AOR. Can anyone else say if it took them longer than 2 months ? We are thinking about reapplying and sending with a courier.

Don't reapply, it may be on its way back to you. Have you called CIC to see if they're returning it?

It's not unheard of for it to take more than 8 weeks, it's happened in the past.

When I try to call and check the status since I don’t have an application number it gives me an issue and then when I try to get through to an operator it actually said they had too many callers and they would not transfer me.

Yes, that happens to everyone. Try 2 1 1 0 at 7:55 EST. You have to keep calling until you get through.

I finally got through to hear the best news ever - they have it and are processing it and we’re suppsed to send the AOR but for some reason it didn’t go through so they will resend it!!!

Hi Guys,

I applied under Family Sponsorship approximately 9 weeks ago now and still haven't received an initial email to say processing has started. I am outside of Canada so cannot call their helpline. Can anyone advise whether this period of time is such that I need to chase or is it normal? If so is there a way of chasing from the UK?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Henry, since the change of VO to Sydney, ns, seems like AORs have been taking longer than usual. When did they receive your app ?

It was signed for by them on 10th July I believe, so exactly 9 weeks ago.

As far as I’ve heard some applicant from end of June are still waiting for AOR as Sydney is experiencing a massive backlog.
I am not 100% sure but I think I read of someone who posted CIC number for applicants outsode Canada, try and do a search on the forum, it might come up!

How did you reach them please? as our AOR is late too
