Hi RabinJi,
Yes he's been added, I had an update email on MyCIC today. When I asked CIC to include my spouse my BG check went back to Not Started and today it changed to In Progress.
Don't stress out too much. I think your PPR will be sent out soon.

Glad to hear your progress Nitz.

Hi Guys,

Need your help. How should I carry funds into Canada? I am immigrating along with my wife and the min. fund requirement is around 15.5 k CAD. Yesterday I went to my bank and they said that I will be able to convert currency only upto USD 10k. I am planning to take that in cash and travel card. Any suggestions on how should i take the rest of the amount?

Leave it in your bank, open a Canadian account and electronically transfer it. Customs will take up some of your time if you try to bring CA$10k or more with you

Hi Guys,

My 6 months will be completed by the end of this week. I landed in Canada 2 months ago hoing to receive my LMIA and starting to work until PR is issued. But unfortunately, my LMIA was rejected due to a technicality. Nothing wrong with my application though. It was just that my employer removed the ad from Job Bank before LMIA approval.

Anyhow...

I have stayed in Canada as a tourist since, and am too impatient waiting for my PR now.

My question is, when the PPR finally comes, how soon can I start working? Do I need to wait for my PR card, or can I just do the landing and begin working right afterwards?

I am really frustrated and any advice would be highly appreciated.

First of all is your Work Permit an open one (or you can work for anyone) or is it closed (tied to the company who applied for the LMIA)?
If it is closed, you will not be able to work for anyone else and will need another company willing to obtain an LMIA to hire you. Also if you applied for PR with the LMIA, your score will have been affected considerably and depending on the class of Express Entry that you applied through, your application may even be rejected now unless your skill set is particularly in demand. Happened to a good friend of mine and he decided not to bother with Canada as a result.
