I am AOR January 20th,2016 and medical passed and no update since then .My WP and visa is expiring next month June 28th. If I apply for Open work permit extension, will it give push to Visa officer to work on my file and take decision before my stuff expires.

Appreciate all the answers

Thanks

Does the email give a time frame for how long you have to respond?

Sorry for all the questions!

No need to apologize - ask away! Email states we have 30 days to send all the required docs ie passports (or copies of), photos and copy of the Ready for Visa email.

Got it! Thanks so much for your help! :)

I'm getting really nervous that this came before and I might have deleted it. I don't know why I get that feeling. I'm sure I'm probably wrong. But what would happen if I did? Do you think they'd send me another or what?

Hi all,

my medical status changed to "passed" to "not needed at this time".

I never saw that. Does anyone have a clue about it?

My background check is "In Progress" since February.

I received the email about status update a this morning.

I don't think you have got PPR but you can always call them and ask if your case is approved or not!

Yeah, I'm sure I didn't either. It's probably just paranoia.

And can we call and do that? I thought they don't check application statuses for us unless it's past the normal processing time?

I take my previous claim back. I said that most seem to get PPRs through MyCIC messages. As the posters above mention, there seem to be many cases where that's not the case. Direct emails also seem to as likely, if not more likely (I have no data as to which is the more obvious route), way of getting PPRs. My rather limited research on this forum led me to believe MyCIC is the more prevalent route. I may have been wrong. In an ideal world, IRCC would update all relevant MyCIC accounts with the PPR pdf. However, that clearly doesn't seem to be happening. Gist of it: ye be warned.

I have seen a few posters claiming they got "warning" emails re: "you did not submit PPR within 30 months so you have X days to respond" but I don't have the links right now. Nor can I vouch for such claims (even if I could pull up such posts). Like the other poster above said, it is highly unlikely that CIC's emails get sent to the spam folder, but not everyone uses Gmail or other modern/up-to-date email vendors that have smart spam sensors. Hence my general advice to all: look up your spam folders etc.

Best wishes to all.

I use Gmail, luckily.

Thanks for the information.

If I call to check on the status of my application, will they actually look it up or tell me to wait until the normal processing time has passed?

Hi everyone,
I have been a silent user in this forum for 5 months now. Its been more than 100 days since my AOR and still no response after medicals passed.
I know there are many of us who are in the same stage, i just wanted to share my timeline and keep hoping to get through.
My profile is a straight fwd one, with one educational degree (Professional Study in dentistry), and working(Wellness Coordinator / EMR Implementation specialist) for the same company for 5 years, and travelled outside the country for once on a short trip.

I initially thought, my profile will be easy to assess for CIC. But learnt it is not the case. Hope this can add some insight of how CIC process the files.

CRS : 461
NOC : 4165
Category : FSW outland / India
ITA : Jan 6th
AOR : Jan 28th
Medicals Passed : Jan 29th.

Hi "AmericanMovingtoCanada"- I too am a FSW USA applicant. Jan 20 AOR. Meds Passed Jan 29 no updates since then. Looks like US applications first go to CIC-Mississauga and then CIC-Ottawa. I am hoping by mid june we may hear something.
Have you made any plans on how to send passport to Ottawa for stamping? or will you have it transferred to US office??

I am FSW USA Applicant. Jan 8th AOR...NO updates after medical passed...Got a ghost mail on april 30th..Nothing changed in mycic!!

Cool. Ghost email maybe a sign of someone working on your application. Hopefully you will hear something soon. From what I have seen FSW US applications are slow to process compared to other visa offices. I am hoping to hear something mid June but not counting on it. It may be July or even later :( Can't say I guess. All depends on luck. Have you made any plans on what to do after PPR?

Just now submitted the document I was asked for. Praying for the best. Will be 4 months in 3 days :)
