The confusion was a result of the profile status options of this forum, which are pre-EE.

Before EE, medical checkup was not required to submit the application. Instead, applicants would receive a request to do a medical checkup at some point (usually close to the final stage). Therefore, one of the the forum profile options is when the medical checkup was done.

Of course, now, everyone has to do a medical checkup before submitting the application. So that option is not applicable to EE applicants. Instead, the forum ought to have an option for 'Medical Passed', which it doesn't. So some (including me) indicate our Medical passed date in the 'Medical done' field.

Expect to see the status of your medical within one week of your e-APR submission (mine was shown 'Passed' on day 4).

There is a slight confusion regarding the medicals. If i'm not wrong, i saw a few people getting their meds done after AOR. Mine was upfront, which included blood and urine tests and an x-ray

Blood reports for both my wife and me were good [tests conducted were VDRL, HIV]
X ray guy said that the lungs were clear and the report was normal
No other details given. The panel physician mentioned our eye sights and other general things as normal.

Should i be worried about the medicals in any possible way? Will there be more medical requests coming our way?

We got our medicals done on 9th of Jan, but finally uploaded the scanned document on 22nd and got the AOR on 22nd itself. How much time should it take to see the result in our CIC account?

do we still need a Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar?

Background check went from "In Progress" back to "Not needed at this time", as I was already expecting....

do you think this is good news?

I'm not sure...

Reading the thread about this subject it seems to me one of the two happened: Maybe they checked that my application has all documents needed, or maybe they have moved my application to another VO. I think it shows a little bit of progres.....

When are our files transferred to our respective visa offices please?

how do you know your local VO is Paris? Is this because you are resident there? Also, is there any way of telling whether or not the application is indeed transferred to the local visa office?

You can find your local VO here : cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp
We can only speculate about what happens with our applications, so we don't really know...

I submitted my application yesterday and got the AOR today. What really happens now? Anyone knows the timeline we are looking at for the whole process, does it really complete within 6 months?

Actually, according to the legendary Asivad on page 5 of this thread: 'EE applications are centrally processed in CPC, Ottawa. LVOs are roped in if and when needed during background checks and as facilitators for post PPR formalities'.

Mine is Sao Paulo/Brazil. On the topic were people discuss about this BGC thing, I saw some people started to receive messages/e-mails directly from local VO. Maybe now that they're finishing to review applications from 2014 they will start to work on our applications on local VO. Just speculating.....

Let's hope for the best =)

Hi All,

Do the medical request column change to passed as soon as the CIC receives the report for doctor office? I got my invite on 13th, did my medicals on 19th and filed the application on 23rd.

Cheers,

Yes. It changes to passed as soon as CIC receives the report stating you don't have any major health issues.
I did my medicals two days before submission and it changed to passed 12 days after AOR (Submission).

I also got the same email and exactly at the same time you got..3.56pm (EST). I think, its some sort of system restart or update in their side. We also share the same dates for AOR and our NOC is also same. Are you an applicant from US?

FSW Inland. :) Hope everything goes smoothly for all of us.
