Ideally, paying upfront shouldn't save more than 3-5 days [max. 2 days of payment processing time + max 3 days the VO might take], unless it takes more than 3 days for the VO to do the final formalities.

It's just that the VO pulls in a file --> decides that the person can be given a PR --> checks the payment status and then sends out the final stuff which saves time over:
VO thinks of granting a PR --> then asks for the payment and then reopens the file after scrutinizing some other files, which might have other priority.

background check changed from NOT STARTED to NOT NEEDED AT THIS TIME 2nd Feb 2016

I had the same situation as above...
By any chance this means they have not yet started the thing at all, since it never been in "in progress"?

Thank you! I have standard reply from FBI which states processing time is 13-15 weeks. I am planning to submit fbi pcc from a private agency in US which takes 2-3 days (it's expensive and not accepted by cic, but this is the max I can do).

Use the agent if they are reliable...I have also used agent and it cost me dear GOD....but...i have a PCC in hand..

To find out a reliable agent or PRO, contact leading law firms in US and they can refer you to local PRO/attestation companies who are reliable..do your due diligence before engaging them....a caution..if someone asks for money upfrood lucknt then be careful....go

hello all,

just a silly question, got ITA,

going to upload all the documents, just want to confirm, employment docs should be in PDf and can we attach multiple file or it should be single PDF file.

They would ask you to upload document for each employment company. So you can upload multiple documents per employing co

Each section should be a single file. You can not upload multiple pdf files for one particular section.

However, you can add multiple documents to One Pdf (Example: Employment Contract + Pay Slips Etc) and upload them. There is a chance that a "Proof of Employment" that you can show consists of multiple documents.

(Be careful when doing this so that you do not disturb the order of a document in the pdf)

correct and also note that the space for each upload is 4MB. Hopefully you would not touch that limit unless it is a glossy scan or too many images.

I honestly think they don't do background checks for everyone (i may b wrong) i think based on your application, travel history, countries of citizenship etc....you may require and extensive background check or not....so when they say not needed at this time in my case. ..im assuming they don't need to do one now based on the currently reviewed info...maybe as they go further on the application, they might see something on someone's application and need a BG check. ...then they'll start and say in progress. ...but who knows with these guys. ...this is all speculation...

That make sense for me. Thanks! Hope that is the case and nothing go wrong.

agree....*speculation*....any statistics of probability of rejection of application at BG stage? I would the probability should be lower.....not read about such cases at group.....so perhaps if one goes to BG check stage, then it is highly kely that application will be processed further without rejection...any comments.

Hope CIC has more transparent application status update like Dominos Pizza Delivery (ex. your file reached us, this agent is working on the file, reviewing certificate, reviewing medical, review on hold since agent not feeling well, review on hold due to high volume of refugee application, review will start again after 7 days, ppr almost reaching you, etc.) ;D ;D ;D

It means that someone is working on your file. You might receive many such ghost emails and no updates to your application in myCIC. All the best.
