No source but by observation and common sense. In theory it should not be the case. But in practice it is.
 
Also any insights into when app statuses are available via ECAS or does that not apply for express entry applications.
 
Did they update any status online or emailed you about this. Or you just happened to make a phone call and they gave you this information of extended medicals?

Guys,

I am an Express Entry applicant. Can you please share the timeline of events starting from the date of submission of final application to getting medical exam passed status to background check completed and passport request?

I had submitted my file on the 29th of September and on the 14th of October I got a confirmation that I have passed the medical exam. So I want to know after how much time will I will be getting the passport request for Stamping?

Your help in this matter will be highly appreciated.

Hi Kunal,
From what I can see on this post - there is quite a range.
My medical approval took just days - probably within the same week.
Same with background check completion - but i havent heard much since.
 
A slightly different question - are the passport request letters (almost) always indicative of a successful outcome?
 
Hi,
I am CEC Feb 01 2017 applicant. My eligibility is still "Recommended Pass". Medical and Criminality both "Passed" and Security "Not Started".
My Medical is expiring in first week of January.
Does anybody know when do i need to take the medical exam again ? I mean do they ask me to do it again ? or they will automatically extend ?

One more thing,
What could be the reason behind my application for not having any process since april month. I have ordered 2 GCMS notes and there is no progress since april. Even my Security is still "Not Started". I am at NA2 since 9 months. Back -Ground is still "Not Applicable".

Your Answer will be really appreciated.
