Hi @ AamirKnhk. My ITA letter says tht i have been invited under PNP. Will i be still considered as a CEC?
CEC + PNP
Upon further research, I found the following on CIC website under A11.2 (Eligibility Check):
"Note: At time of APR, PNP Express Entry applicants must demonstrate they meet the PNP program requirements and, for A11.2 assessment, that they meet the program requirements of one federal immigration program (FSWP or CEC or FSTP)"
You can find the phrase here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/refuse.asp
So that means CIC will check for your PNP requirements AND the requirements for one of the federal immigration programs such as FSW, CEC or FSTP. This means that if your PNP required you to have proof of funds, then you still need to provide it to CIC.
However, if you were just a CEC applicant without a PNP nomination, then you were not required to show proof of funds.
CEC only (no PNP)
You don't need to show the proof of funds if you applied under Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and have no PNP nomination:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1145&top=29
As mentioned in the link above:
"Note: You do not have to meet the funds requirement if you were invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class.
The system currently asks all applicants to provide a proof of funds document. If you don’t need to provide proof of funds, you must upload a letter explaining either that you have been invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class, or that you have a valid job offer."
As for your current status in Canada, you can stay with a valid visa/permit, be it a visitor visa or any other type, and that won't affect your PR application.
