Thanks mate. I hope to see that infamous email, that I have only heard of. Hope CIC does not throw any new hurdles after almost 7 months.

Good luck legalfalcon! I hope something works out for us too. Our BGC has been in progress since 14 Feb. Lol.

Havent ordered GCMS notes. They will take so long now. I just hope ppr comes before that! :)

It will be seven months on Tuesday since we received AOR!

I just noticed your bgc was done in a week! How lucky. Why do some take so long? Been over 1.5 months for us. We are a working couple with two very young children

By the way, you received an email on February 24. What is it related to?

It was a ghost email (the account updated email without any changes).

BGC is something beyond the control of CIC. External agencies like the CSIS, INTERPOL, RCMP are involved in the BGC. The workload on these agencies, the applicant's country of residence, travel history, countries travelled to, inter-nationality marriages and many other factors can delay the BGC. For some it's a quick turnaround, for others it takes a longer time. But, why it happens, no one knows and CSIS is very secretive about dwelling the details of how the BGC take place.

Thanks a lot @Iceage. I hope something positive comes out. It would be really disappointing it this is just another ghost mail without anything happening.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I assure you that I will be here for a long time even after I get my PPR. I have enjoyed learning a lot from you all and enjoyed, even more, helping others with the best of my abilities. As a trained legal professional, I enjoy helping others, and will continue to do so here. I will be active on the forum and keep up with helping as much as I can.

I hope this update in my profile is not a sign of new trouble, but something positive.

I wish everyone in September gets their PPR ASAP without delay. So be rest assured to see me here and I request you to stay active on the forum and share your experience and help others .

Good explanation! Yea I'm wondering how long mine is going to take. We are Indian citizens living in South Africa and in addition, I have lived almost 9 years in the US. Hope those security agencies don't take ages!

I think CIC just creating much more work for themselves, they could have clearly reflected the status and set some time frame expectations based on previous statistical data.

Worst thing is keeping people in uncertainty, which just causes more inquiries and time spent by CIC responding to all of these.

In any case another week starts may it bring good news to all of us.
