I am hitting 6 month today, just called CIC about my application status. The lady said the only thing left is my security check is in process, she asked me to call back in Sept if I don't hear from them

Holly shit! really? SEPTEMBER? almost ONE YEAR for immigration? no Express Entry whatsoever...

My concern now is my passport. I am leaving the country on the 29th May 2016 for a two week vacation and need my passport back by then.
Should I have any concern that I won't get my passport back on time before I am flying out?

If you send it out today you should receive it back by the 28th/29th. It's risky though. Might be best to send the passport when you get back to avoid anxiety.

I am wondering if I need to send at all my passport. THe visa regulations for my home country (Germany) are not completely clear to me. It used to be no visa and now you need an eTan to enter the country. Does that count as a visa? Or is that similar to the visa free travling in the US?

If u have got a German passport you only need to send a photocopy not the actual passport and you for that etan stuff online its not a visa its just clearance very easy

PPR April 5th
Passport reached Ottawa April 7th
Application approved and closed April 15th

Waiting for COPR. Planning landing for next weekend!

It's mid-April, passport is needed for the end of May. Is it really going to take 6 weeks?

I have received my CoPR and Passport yesterday. The whole journey has now come to an end, just waiting to land sometime next month. I will be around in this place and be of some use if possible to anyone.
