This happens everyday. You need to call CIC between 8-8.30 am EST if you want to have any luck in talking to an agent. Sometimes the "call load" starts as early as 8.20.
I believe ppl from outside Canada cannot call this number, and GCMS notes is the only option to get an insight into their application, Correct?

If you are calling from outside Canada, you have to call at +1 613 944 4000. Even when you call, most of the CIC call agents are not at all helpful. I called them after completing 6 months and all they said was my application was still under review. I could see that on MyCIC page.

The best way to figure out what has been going on is by ordering the GCMS notes, but it takes 30~45 days. But its wort it.

AAA2133- can you tell me how long after your status update to application approved on my CIC did your Canada post return tracker be activated???

Same day as far as I remember. I got the CoPR next day.

Hello
What is gcms notes?

And also I submitted my application back in October 17/15 via Canada Post and when I check the tracking number, it was received (with signature) in Mississauga on October 20/15 .. however, as of today's date (April 4/16), I have not received any letters and/or emails stating AOR..
I also can't get into the CIC site to check for status of application because I require a client ID number and since I haven't received anything from CIC, I yet don't have any type of ID number to be able to search for the status of my application.
Why is it taking so long for AOR to come through??
Is this normal?
I have been trying to get in contact with CIC call center but I haven't been able to get through do to high call volume. The system keeps hanging up on me.
I see on this forum people getting their AOR so fast.. I have been waiting for almost 6 months now.
What's going on??

Why did you submit your application with Canada Post? What immigration stream did you apply with?

For Express Entry, everything is done online. You would not have been able to apply unless you had an account with CIC to create and submit your EE profile, receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), and finally submit your application for PR and receive AOR.

Or did you contract a lawyer or firm to apply for you? They should know your AOR.

I am Canadian.
I did a sponsorship application where I had to submit a paper application and mail it to an office in Mississauga Ontario..
I'm talking about an AOR for my sponsorship application - and yes I did all my paperwork with a Lawyer.

OK, that makes sense. I think you're in the wrong forum. This is Express Entry.

You should check the Family Class Sponsorship forum here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/family-class-sponsorship-b5.0/

Good luck!

I have same time line as yours. I got the PPR mail on 18th March and I sent the passport through Xpressport on same day. CIC received the passports on 24th March. Today I got an email from CIC around 3 PM. When I logged in to mycic I found the status updated as Application closed and everything else is complete. But the tracker on the retun Xpress post is not activated. Did it happen for you as well. Did they close the appliction before returning the passport and COPR? I am bit worried. It could be an issue with Canada post also. Please let me know if you have faced similar situation as mine. Thanks

Hi. Has your tracker been activated??

Tracking activated

What is this dry spell? No news whatsoever, anywhere on the forum.

I am waiting for my GCMS notes which should arrive today or tomorrow, hopefully. Always waiting for something, tired of this.
