Wow...congrats! Oct Applicants are really getting speedy processing

Congrats to those who got PPR.

A lot of us are still waiting but with this pace we are going to get our PPRs really soon, most probably before the end of January.

I really hope so! And yes, my travel history is huuugeee, more than 40 international travels, and more than 10 addresses in the past 10 years :( I also don't live in the country of my citizenship, which probably prolongs things too, as two VOs need to be involved in my application. But I am hopeful that my application will not be forgotten and will not go beyond 6 months.

You think travel history has to do with BG not started?

I have this observations though I stand to be corrected.

1) Applicants within canada get their background check status changed to in process immediately their medical is passed.
2) For those applying outside canada, their background status does not change immediately.
3) Once the background status changes to in process (for those applying outside canada), it comes with PPR within days and weeks.
4) This implies that everybody Background check commences immediately your medical is passed though status for those applying from outside canada will not be updated immediately - there is nothing to worry about.

Is anybody having same view?

That seems like a pretty accurate observation.

Congrads to all who got PPR....... :) :) :) :)

Great news indeed.... It is good to see that the list of applicants that are waiting is getting shorter and shorter.....

Just checked my app...It says UPDATED, nothing has changed...I have submitted explanation letter on Dec 30 so I am assuming that what has been updated...hope so at least...one more rejection would just kill me... ??? ??? ???

The first point is not exactly corrected, iam inland CEC with oct 09 AOR, still my background status shows "Not Started". It looks like sometimes CIC doesn't bother to update the status.

If notice few months back ppl used get DM then i will take couple of days or week to get PPR or refusal. Now direct PPR

It all depends on CIC backlog

True but those applying from within Canada - The status may remain ongoing background check till the day you get ur PPR :-)

Tocanadawego,

Thanks. However, how long it will take for the status to change to in process (for those applying outside Canada) depends largely on the size of their travel history. So let us be very hopeful. Our own will soon come to pass.

Congrats to those with PPR!!

It's not true at all.

My background check status changed to IN PROGRESS on December 17. But I didn't get anything after that. I am PNP Outland.
