I just received a mail from CIC for submission of Passport for Visa stamping. But in CIC it's still showing BG Check in Progress and Final Decision - 'not yet started'.


Is this normal or should I wait for notification on CIC portal as well???

BTW my VO is Abu Dhabi.

Send send send! Portal often slow to update.

On RM Special delivery, I believe that defaults to some equivalent of Canada Post when in Canada. For that reason, if possible, I would go for a courier like FedEx or DHL.

I don't want to worry anyone, but I thought RM was bad until I experienced Canada Post. I recently had a small item shipped from the UK that took 6 weeks. Even the sender (amazon seller) was willing to send a 2nd item because of the delay. Most UK post takes 2 weeks.

Just submit your passport and CIC will turn to Approved & Closed after you receive your passports back

I got the details of VFS in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Planning to visit the VFS center and submit my passport. Seems convenient, fast and full proof option.

BG check started on 24th of March.

Yes, this is normal and it will stay this way until your visa is stamped and a COPR generated. The day you get the visa and COPR, your application will be closed and a decision made will be seen on MyCIC. Send your PP to the LVO and very soon you will see the decision made.

Congrats .. nice to C that Abu Dhabi is giving ppr other wise i have not seen many pprs from ADVO recently.. congrats again .. can you please share you time line? r u FSW or PNP .. what time you got your email... if you got it today it means ADVO is also working on fridays?

We have been told to get photographs during our appointment for landing formalities at CIC office.
We had sent 2 photographs each for passport stamping with PPR request. Do they usually ask for it again while landing?

No, but better to take them just in case. Also carry your COPR, PP and your legal status in Canada.
