I submitted Oct 18 2015, Meds Passed Oct 28. Received an email of application update (Nov 1) but there was no visible update.
FSW Inland Applicant.
I m not sure what is ECAS. ?
Is it the same as checking your application status from:

My medical passed on Oct 23, and Ecas access on Oct 22. However, my background check has not started yet， is it normal?

Yes. It may change 3-7 days.

I have noticed ppl saying they got Interview call (or) Audit call from service Canada for CEC profiles. Whats they ask & why only few ppl get the interview call ? Any idea.

Electronic Client Application Status ... You can check your app status in there as well

Go to https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas

and select Application Number in Identification type and enter your application number and other details...
