That'a great step forward ☺️

Well mine moved to nn last thursday, and I'm curious what's going to come up next.

Did you hear from csis? Of course as you already know, it's not just csis that conducts the bg check. Local agencies are also involved and considering the amount of workload my home country's intelligence is dealing with, following the very unfortunate events that took place this year, I can't begin to think how long it might take them to respond to cic's enquiries!

Thanks elmas!

No, I have not heard from CSIS yet. Guess it's too soon.

Yeah! I'm aware that there are other agencies involved in security check. But, consider many cases we see on the forum. Majority of them have had their security checks done in 2 months or less. However, CIC takes its time finalizing cases even after CSIS advises it on security checks. :(

Since you are our forum guru, what do you think are the odds that our cases will be finalized soon, considering our medicals changed to nn?

I found the information below on CSIS's website. I just sent a fax inquiring if they are done with my security check? The service is free and they send their answer in a letter to the Canadian Return Mailing Address you include in your letter.

How can I find out about the status of my immigration screening file?

For general information on immigration/ citizenship/ refugee/ visa-related issues, contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) at 1-888-242-2100 or website www.cic.gc.ca.

To enquire about the status of a government clearance or an immigration screening file, the following information is required*:

a full name,
date and place of birth,
the signature of the applicant, and
a return mailing address as replies are not sent by email or fax.

If you are enquiring on behalf of another person, the request must be accompanied by the Consent Form to Disclose Information to a Designated Individual.

Mail or fax the request to CSIS at the attention of:

Assistant Director, Operations
Canadian Security Intelligence Service
P.O. Box 9732, Station T
Ottawa, ON
K1G 4G4
Fax: 613-369-2954

* If a request is missing any of the information noted above, a reply will not be issued. Please allow up to eight weeks for the processing of requests.

thanks for the info. 8 weeks turnaround time?! for a mere inquiry? that's insane - you get your GCMS before that from what i have seen on this forum. does it effect your file if you do raise a CSIS inquiry for the status on your background check?

;)

I can just conclude that they are working on our files and this a good sign. Coz there are many people in other forums with their files untouched in several months.

elams! You've been asked to submit kids' travel histories. Means they are really working on your app. To be honest, I am waiting for you to be the first one between March AORs who gets PPR from Ottawa! Hoping for soon :)

Hope is growing between March AORs. :P

I wish a few people from our list of 39 also get the PPR so that we can trim that list :P

I don't know why they haven't asked for that before because they will probably want to verify the info I provided, which will take I-don't-know-how-long!

I hope we all get reach the happy end soon!

By the way, has anyone else been asked to provide travel histories of dependents and if yes, when?

It means even the security, the most agonizing step, is over and you're ready for final review!

have any one of you seen such updates before to any member? And if you could share what and how much time it took afterwards?

Is there a need to worry or any hiccups now involved?

Usually how much time average it takes fr the file to get picked up?

Thanks in advance...

I was never told they were done with security and haven't called them in a while, so I don't know from personal experience, but I guess it should take no longer than a month. Probably much less, actually.
