Hi All,

I got my PPR and COPR in Sep. Visa stamp says expiry in Feb 28 2017. I am planning to land on Feb 20 2017
My passport expires in July 2017.

Do I need to renew passport before going?

Hello Everyone,

any update in your profile this morning IST time? minor or significant?

Not sure if they started moving ahead on my file or was this an old progress but they updated my CIC portal today. After one call, 4 emails (2 to NDVO + 1 to Ottawa), my background moved ahead from 'Not needed at this time' to 'Review in Progress'. Again, no update post that. Usually have seen people receiving PPR in a couple of hours once the status of their BG changes to Review in Progress.

Completed 8 months today so was hoping some movement n was glad to see this email in the morning.

Hoping something major this week or by end of november.

P.S. unless I don't get my GCMS, can't find out if the change occured today or 'twas an old update

I wonder if any of you could help me answer my question:

My family and I are still waiting for our PPR. We are FSW inland applicants (AOR March 19). In March 2017, we are planning to do 6-months of contract-work across the border, in the US. My husband and I would need to apply for J-1 short-term US work visas to carry out this contract work. Would the application for a US J-1 visa affect our application for Canadian permanent residency?

Hi everyone,

Got my PPR this morning at 9:00 IST ;D

It was a simple email stating that I've a new message from CIC for my application no. XXXXX. The PDF file was there via email dated today in CIC portal along with all previous emails dated March.

Took a while to post it here because:
1. Didn't receive any regular email which says 'Ready for visa / Pret pour visa' so was kinda unsure.
2. No change in status this morning, the last I saw was on saturday morning, exactly 48 hrs back where my BG went into progress.
3. The letter does state 'This is in reference to your application for permanent residence. To finalize your application, we require:
1) Passports (some additional info regarding FVS)
2) Photographs
3) Change in Circumstances.


So wanted to be sure before declaring it here.

I'm sure they are picking up applicants from March 2016 and sending them invites as they complete 8 months, as I just completed mine yesterday which was sunday. So hang in there.
