I have no idea why but PPRs seem to be sent only on certain days of the week, ie mainly Tuesdays. Is that so?

Actually Mondays. A few others and i got ours on Monday at the exact same time.

Just 1, from my home country. In my travel history, I have included my visits to US, but since the total days in US did not exceed 6 months,CIC did not ask for FBI PCC. Asper GCMS notes on July 6, criminality passed, R10 OK, A11.2 MET. But eligibility status says review required and security not started. On July 7, bg went in progress 2nd time. So, hopefully security check in progress and everything else OK.

It was issued in April. My program would start in August but I couldn't make it and now I want to fly in for a week in September. I'm not going to study, so I can't tell the officer that I'm going to study. But I'm not sure if I can apply for a TRV either, since a study visa sort of includes a TRV. What do you think?

I am not an expert. In my opinion, if you decided not to study, the college/university who sent the letter of acceptance to you, might inform CIC. If they did inform CIC, then your study permit will not be of much use. It is a matter of probability. They might allow you to enter Canada, if the college has not informed that you have not joined.

Usually, I have heard of people getting the PPR's on Tuesday / Wednesday. I don't know why.

Thanks for your reply. I deferred my acceptance actually. I don't want to look like I'm crazy and applying to all kinds of Canadian visas possible! So I haven't made upy mind yet.

We'll have to wait for next week then. It's evening where I am, so Wednesday's almost over for me.
