Agree. Actually it makes perfect sense. The visa officers need to conduct background check for EACH family member, so the more members there are, the longer time they need :)

guys,
i noticed a connection between taking short time in processing file and number of family members!
i mean the less family member, the shorter time of processing u will get.

we always compare between the inland and outland applicant, but never ask about family numbers!
i might be wrong but i think there is a connection.

Hello All.

Its great to read everyone's inputs. Its really informative. I know these questions have been raised before, but I am worried.

Its been a month since I received AOR. There's no progress on my file, not even Meds passed. I am getting concerned. I tried calling CIC once but they said the processing time is 6 months and they cannot give any other updates.

Does anyone have any suggestions or insight? I don't know how to calm my nerves. The 'Help' button next to meds status says 'Not needed at this time' means CIC hasn't received an application yet. I've received an AOR, so I believe my application has transmitted.

I did upfront meds mid-February and the clinic confirmed they have uploaded the results on March 1, 2016.

Thank you

i think a copy of your medical has to been send directly to cic only than they will update have you tried calling panel of physicians where you did your medicals

Yes, I had called them. I did my medicals mid of February and the panel physicians office confirmed they uploaded the documents on March 1, 2016. I got my AOR on March 9, 2016. I'm just anxious.

Hey everybody and @legalfalcon

Is it true that when you receive PPR your passport must be valid for at least one year ? I am asking because mine expires in one year and 2 months and fiven the date of my AOR I will definitely not receive Ppr in the next two months.

In other words, should I renew my passport ?

The PPR states that your PP should be valid for 6 months and should have 2 blank pages. If you have additional dependents on your file who are entering without a passport like children, then one blank page for each dependent.

If your PP is valid for another year, no need to worry. If in case you get you PPR and your PP is about to expire the get it renewed early, but make sure that you send a scanned image of the bio pages of the new passport to CIC via a CSE.

The date before you have to enter is dependent on your medical date. The medical is valid for one year and you have to complete your landing formalities within one year of your medical.

Hope this answers your question!

The April 8th email was not a ghost email. It was to notify you there was the change to your application from the 7th.
If there is no change in your profile the day before of after, or no change at all, then it is a ghost email.
