In your case as you are already in canada , BG check is not necessary as CIC already have all your info

Else CIC has outsourced the BG check to agencies which submit the report after verifying with your current & pasr employers as well as financial institutions

Its normal for outlanders. BG will change to in progress near PPR.

For Inlands it changes to in progress within few days of AOR.

My timeline is :

App submitted: 26th March 2016
Medicals Passed: 27th March 2016
BG Changed to In progress: 30th March 2016
BG Changed back to not needed: 31st March 2016

I am btw FSW Outland applicant.

Since then there has been no update. Anyone here who has received verification calls? Who did they call and what did they inquire?

anyone from india.. please tell me what add docs are needed if we are taking money as a gift from parents

you will need the following:

1. affidavit from your parents which says that they know about your pr application, the exact amount they are giving you (mention bank a/c and cheque number etc), and that they are permitting you to use the said amount for your personal use.
2. to be on the safer side, you can get your parents income assessed from a CA (in case they fill IT form 16 etc, it will be easy)

Yes, PNP applicants very rarely get verification calls, since the province itself did most of your vetting back when you were applying to their program.
