After that no updates. I called CIC last week and they said Background verification is still in progress. I am wondering why they take so long for BG. We are 3 people in the application - myself, husband and 2 year old kid. We haven't travelled anywhere expect husband went to Dubai on visit visa 2 years back. My case is processed in Ottawa and not in LVO.

Hope we hear something at least before March 2017.

Mine is 25th march,fswo,ottawa VO,bg in progress since 24th August.
No travelling history at all. Still no update...I don't know y this happening with March AOR people. I admit that it has happened with other month AOR people also,but not in this big number.
Some of my friends were April aor and Ottawa VO,they have already got it, and,got their passport also stamped.
No idea y am I stucked.

Almost similar scenario mine March 25th AOR CEC inland with two dependent applicants has been pending for a while BG went in progress on 4th august as per gcms everything completed but an officer has to review. Also found there was a note one agent assigned it to another with a due date of 26th oct 2016.not really sure what's going on there.

What do they actually do in bg check,its really confusing??? If they wouldn't have started the bg check,then It would have been bit easy to understand that it will take time...but after bg check changes to in progress,its almost that the application is almost through..N for me,there is no international travel also...

Earlier they used to give ppr within 2-4 days after bg check, n from last one month,i dnt think that they have given many PPRs.

As per GCMS notes, the background completed too, the MyCIC status shows inprogress still though, I dont know what the heck they are waiting for man its frustrating.

Hi Boxer. I have given this February or March deadline a lot of thought and came up with the following.

An immigration visa is valid until the medicals expire. Considering that most of us got our ITA at the beginning of 2016, I will assume we went through medical checks in mid-January. This means our immigration visas will be valid until mid-January, which means we need to receive our passports and COPR at least a month before that, which means we need to be able to send our passports for stamping a couple of weeks before that, which means we need to get PPR in November. Otherwise, there might not be enough time for stamping and landing, unless many are asked to re-do medicals. What do you think?

Hello All,

I was away travelling. Just popping in to update our landing process.

My wife and I did our landing on October 26, 2016 at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

The first immigration officer (immediately after getting off the flight), just checked our passports for immigrant visa and COPR. He didn't stamp nothing, just asked us to proceed to another immigration area which is meant for New Immigrants.

Over, at the next immigration area, we were greeted by some officers who gave us a book 'Welcome to Canada' with information on various aspects, like SIN registration, MSP application form etc. I asked them if we could apply for SIN Number at the airport, but they advised there is no such facility at YVR Airport. We have to do it from a Service Canada center.

After that we were led to the immigration counter, where after waiting for our turn, the officer asked us statutory questions to confirm all details on the COPR and then proceeded to stamp and sign the passports and COPR. Also, at this point I gave the officer 2 copies of BSF-186 and BSF-186A forms. She signed both and kept one for their records and returned the other.

This sums up our entire landing process.

Similar situation ...........FSW 20th March AOR.. we have 4 with n 2 kids ,visited one time in Dubai only....Score 940 (bc of LMIA) but no response .. i don't know what is their criteria of selection...........

I guess because of Family members we are delay.....

IS there anyone who can tell maximum time ...............

Call center can give you an idea of that. We all have a February or March deadline. You can find out what yours is.

I am Single (AOR MArch 27 PNP Outland) and still waiting
I am from Iraq and my file is currently being processed at the Bucharest/Romania VO
I think my delay is mostly because the security checks, which probably are complicated and take long time for applicants from countries like Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan... etc.
However, it is ridiculous that that there is no time frame for the 20% who don't get the PPR email within the six months.
