I got my COPR and passport returned today. I have a couple of questions:

1) Can I do the landing process and come back to USA without having USA visa? I am on H1B here and totally legal and my H1B is valid till July 2016 but dont have visa stamped. I heard something called Automatic Visa Re-validation but not sure what it is exactly.

Yes, it can be done, provided you have a valid I-94. I assume your I-94 is valid till July'16. Automatic Visa revalidation is only applicable if you are travelling to Canada by road and will be coming back to US in 30 days. You can not stay more than 30 days. If you travel back within 30 days, your existing I-94 will be revalidated and a new one will not be issued at the border.

When are you planning to do that? I am in the same boat and should be doing it as well.

2) If i can come back to USA and then go back to Canada after a few months then can i still take all my goods with me? or will it be a different procedure?I have no clue about this. may be you can post a new topic in the forum and see if people share their experiences.

How much time it took you to send and receive passports with PR visa and COPR back in US?

Please advise.

Just in case anyone remembers my situation, my wife is in India and I am in US. I had initially sent CIC an email to change my VO to USA. They had asked me to send it to Canada, but due to the legality involved with sending the passport across international boundaries, I refrained.

I had sent CIC an email 2 days ago, and today I got a message in MyCIC account. They switched my VO to New York!
They have sent me the updated procedure in order to send it to New York. Everything stays same, just that I send it using USPS, instead of Xpresspost.

Planning to send it tomorrow, hopefully it should be stamped quickly. My medical results are about to expire in March!!!

Posting here so that others with similar situation get a solution.

That wraps up your issue beautifully . It's nice to CIC being very accommodating.

I'm sure that if you send your PP by tom, you will definitely get it before end of February.

Hello everyone,

I want to update the forum that I have received back my passport and letter of PR confirmation from CIC. Hence I guess it makes the receipt of PR official now!
(I have updated my dates in the spreadheet that was designed for July applicants).

I am (or rather was!) FSW-Inland July 16th applicant.

In this subject forum, I was not an active participant, but I was a daily visitor and faithfully devoured all posted messages.
I benefitted incredibly from all the helpful information shared and the words of optimism and encouragement by various forum members.
A heartfelt thanks to all.
And good luck to everyone who are still waiting - the good news is going to arrive at your doorsteps (inboxes) very soon!
