For some people, two days. For some others, it could take one month or even more.. From what I heard.

I sent them two pages of explantion letter with my gcms notes last thursday.Today they sent me email from ottawa cpc @gc.ca with passport request letter.

Today got update from CIC. When i checked, it showed my Background check changed to "In Progress".
