Hi guys,

I have a query about landing and leaving Canada.

I want to complete my landing as soon as I receive my stamped passport back from the embassy. I'm looking at going to Canada, completing the landing and hanging around there for two weeks or so. I understand that this will not give me enough time to receive the PR card, so, my question is this;

Will I be able to enter Canada, stay for two weeks, leave and then return later this year? I will provide CIC with a Canadian mailing address for the PR card and then have the card couriered to me overseas (Am I allowed to do this?).

Also, what documents do I need to provide upon landing in Canada? I applied as CEC outland.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

PR card takes anywhere from 45-60 days to arrive. If you leave Canada without the PR card, to re-enter you will require PRTD (PR Travel Document). You will need to apply for PRTD which will take about 25 days of processing time and has processing fee that you need to pay.

As for getting your card couriered - most of the courier companies won't accept it as it is a govt. document and very valuable. Even if you find an agency who can courier it, please remember the risks and consequences of losing the PR card is very high.

Also, just to clarify, I'm coming in as a CEC outland applicant, I'm just going to show the border officer the letter that I had used in my application stating that I do not need to show POF due to applying under CEC. This will suffice, correct?

Yes, IMO it should suffice. CECs are exempted with regards to PoF, still clarify with others. :)

Got note yesterday. Eligibility passed, criminality passed, security just started after I ordered the note and it showed two screenings of security have passed. I asked someone professional about the note, and was told normally it requires 4 screening in secrurity clearance. Therefore I just need another 2.
I don't know when I can get pr and I have no choice but wait. At least the information from the note actually gives me some relief .

By the way my Aor is 26th Jan, CEC Outland.

And my application on line still has nothing changed since medical passed, except it showed "additional document required" but without any message to tell me what document I need. ( I sent an email to Ottawa to ask, and there is no specific information they provided to me. )

I wonder if I need to ask for another GCMS note to push them to process my file. I hope my file won't be forgotten again. ^^
Hey, could you pl share what is ur current BG status in profile? Hs it ever changed frm na to ip2?

Hello. That's actually a great relief for you knowing the current status of your file. Please how did you raise the gcms note? I need to raise one. Thanks

My background has been IP1 since medical passed. And nothing changed ever till now for almost 6 months.
By the way, 3 months ago they asked for RCMP. But background never changed.

Actually I ordered it from a Chinese Immigration company. They have a shop in Taobao and costs very little. In fact you can choose whatever company reliable to help you with that GCMS note, since it is just a very simple procedure, but you have to wait 30 days for it.
Good luck!

Hi Everyone

I am one of the very slow CEC in lander to get the PR, Here is my journey

Stream: CEC Inland

ITA: Jan 11th, 2017
Submitted Docs: Jan 26th
AOR: Jan 27th
Medicals Passed: Feb 24th
Additional document requested for travel history:received request and submitted on same day March 30th, 2017 (BG changed to IP on same day)
No change of BG since then
PPR: June 21st
PPR Sent on June 22nd and received at Ottawa on June 23rd
Application approved on July 11th
Return tracker activated on July 13th and Passport received on 14th
Completed landing on 1000 islands bridge, as Niagara is not that recommended these days because of the restrictions

I was struck in traffic for 30 minutes at the bridge but overall it took less than 5 minutes for completing landing, Not even a single question asked.

Thanks each and everyone who helped me in getting through the process and I cant thank enough this group.

Good luck to everyone :)

Chandra

Do you know when did you pass security or if you have gone under security screening or regular security?
No Actually- My Security was blank as per my GCMS Notes on June 15th, I got PPR on July 7th. So I'm not really sure how it went.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share an interesting thing I got to know, I called the CIC(1-888-242-2100) and got through after waiting 20 mins.

But the wait was worth it, the operator asked for verification and then reviewed my file and said "Good News Your File for PR is approved" but there is no communication as of now sent by CIC to me. Strangely as per here the CIC has 4 months of waiting period as per the protocol from the due date of finalising the application. Operator said that my application was due for final decision on 7th July 2017 but it got approved on 13th July 2017.

I can recieve my PPR anytime within next 4 months as per CIC...though she mentioned that it can be anytime soon though.

Hoping for the PPR soon...
