Your PPR could be just around the corner or, in my case, your background check could be in progress for months. I'm hoping it's the first one. Fingers crossed. BTW, we have the same AOR.

Thanks buddy for replying. Should i consider it as IP1 or IP2? Please see my all status changes in signature and advise.

Thanks.

I believe IP1 since you have not had that status before - though it could very well be your last background check change and it might even skip IP2 completely.

Then what is "Next step is to have background check" considered. Shouldn't this status be IP1?

That should be Not Started. IP1 and IP2 have the same status: "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

Can someone plz tell me which is the VO for PNPO applicants. Is it CPC-Ottawa & not LVO?

And do we get a mail/message in CIC account when BGS changes or we need to keep a regular check???

I am a PNP-Outland, and as per my GCMS, my primary office is CIO Nova Scotia, and secondary office is CPC-Ottawa

On February 19, my Background Check went from Not Needed to Not Started and then, the same day, went from Not Started to In Progress. It hasn't changed since then.

I see...so as per new updates, what exactly is your status in account. "Next step is to conduct BG" or "We are processing your BG". I assume it is the latter.

It is "We are processing your background check". I believe the new updates came into effect on March 7. So my Background Check status changed from In Progress to We are processing your background check.

I don't know the answer to your first question but for your second question, no, you will not get an email when there is a change in the background check. You will need to check your status regularly to see how it changes.
Thanks for this imp info. I guess i need to be more regular in checking my account then.

And friends the last question on my mind as of now is my FD column reads" Ur application is in progress and we will send u a message when a decision is taken" and With BG being NA. So is there a possibility that i may get a PPR without BG changing?
Any inputs on all ur FD statuses will be appreciated.

You are most likely in IP2, NOT IP1 based on your previous BG changes...

So technically, you can consider your NBG as being at the same stage as IP1. Even though there are variations, the majority of the patterns for BG go 1 of 2 ways:

NA > NBG > NA > IP2
or
NA > IP1 > NA > IP2

They may say something different, but essentially you're at the same stage of the BG process. If you followed the 1st path, then you're essentially at IP2. With that being said, we've seen people go straight to PPR from NA, and other variations on all of this, so none of this is ever certain.

Th

Thanks for the info Rohit. That means it is not the LVO that processes our case. So where do we send our passports???

To the nearest VFS centre. The PPR email that you receive will have the details regarding where to send the passport and other related info.
