Yeah, I agree with you. Btw these are not my notes. Somebody posted in the past. Just gathered here for everyone's reference. If you observed these notes after BGC Not needed /Not Applicable to In progress , CIC officers are waiting for Security clearance before their final decision. Most of us are worried why officers are taking this long. In fact, they also depends on someone else to get the Security clearance for us.

Yeah, that's true. Security clearance takes a lot of time. But, I still believe CIC is not sending all applications CSIS for clearance. I guess, only if they have doubts with any application they send it forward. Not sure though.

By "BG IP->IP Mar 16 2017" do you mean BG NN->IP Mar 16 2017 ?

I have very similar tracker to yours. I am hoping my BG goes IP this weekend too.

Theoretically, there is some difference which is self explanatory. As far as CIC concerned, it is one type of BG status / stage that each applicant should undergo. During this process, CIC will validate R10, Criminal checks etc
Once they are done, they will change to Not applicable. CEC Inlands, whoever submit RCMP upfront they will get this status (Next step to conduct BG check) and for others they will display "we are processing back ground check".

Hope it clarifies your query.

I passed my r10, assuming that because my BOWP was approved about a week after BC went to IP and meds passed. Since end of feb, still in IP and no change in VO and status. Found out this week that application is still at CIO, Sydney NS.

No RCMP upfront, found out that this was a thing after i started following this thread after my application.

After that no update so far.
I didn't submit upfront RCMP clearance. I have seen cic is asking for it. I am thinking to apply for it.

Should I apply for it now or should I wait for cic to ask for it?
Any suggestions.
Any idea how long will it take to get an update regarding my application.
